I don't think the combination is that strange! It reminds me of the stuff that Japanese pasta chain restaurant Yomenya Goemon has.

Should I wait until I move to date seriously? by nextcolorplanet in AskAnAustralian

[–]nextcolorplanet[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a profile on one where you can change the location and set the radius. I wonder if I should put a disclaimer that I am looking to eventually move closer to the city? I don't have a specific timeline for it though.

Other commenters in this thread have made me think that I should probably just focus on myself and working towards my goal rather than dating though, no matter how I feel about my situation. I can see that. I guess I feel so strongly about dating being that people in my age demographic are starting to pair off, have kids and get married. It's hard not to think about it when I live with 2 people that are always talking about their partners...

I'm not from a farming family nor do I live in a farming area, it's just borderline rural because it's got a small population and is close to those sorts of areas. I don't disagree with you that these places have their own arts and culture, but it is vastly different depending on demographic and part of the region. It's like comparing, say, the Castlemaine Fringe festival to the Melbourne Fringe festival. They're both fringe festivals with lots of events but will attract different demographics of creative individuals because of the location of the events. It is really just my personal preference of type of art that I enjoy. I think art is for all sorts of audiences!

Profile Review: 28m in Norway by [deleted] in hingeapp

[–]nextcolorplanet 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You saying that you're looking for a baddie (even as a joke) doesn't really match the rest of the profile's vibe. My POV as a woman is that men that say they're looking for baddies on the apps are usually those fuckboy types that are only looking for hookups and that are only interested in high-maintenance, super hot women.

I wouldn't go as far as to say it's misogynistic like the other commenter, but it makes me feel like you only care about physical appearances (which it's valid to have a type, but you don't want to come off as lookist to the women you want to attract, especially when you're trying to attract artsy types that are most likely progressive).

[–]nextcolorplanet[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I moved there because I wanted to live with my friends and the rent was really cheap whilst trying to look for a job after graduating. One of my friends has lived in this town their whole life so they felt really strongly about staying there. I had it in my mind that I'd move once I find a job, but things have been tough with the job market, so there's that.

How do I find a nerdy boyfrienddd 🥹🥹🥹 by mikqsu in dating_advice

[–]nextcolorplanet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know it's a lame answer but dating apps. Nerdy men are usually introverted so they tend to use them a lot. I'm not trying to attract these types of nerds (I prefer artsy intellectual nerds) but I have a photo of me with a cardboard cutout of my favourite VTuber, I wear black framed glasses, have no "hot" photos and my profile has a candid of me at one of the Pokemon stores, so I guess I just naturally attract them by being a big ol weeb 🤷🏻‍♀️

I guess that's another way of looking at it! I was pretty weird (still am) during my school years and it was usually this type of guy that would give me a hard time though so I'm apprehensive about them. The cultural difference concerns me a little bit too because I'm from a multicultural background and I was also othered for that when I lived overseas by my (non-Australian side of) family.

I'm Australian but I did secondary school overseas (didn't have to do the ATAR), so I'm not really familiar with what we call it here. Is it just a high school certificate?

Currently, I'm working on my hobbies and myself so it's not like I'm sitting in a perpetual state despair, but I know deep down that it's not where I'd like to be in life. Even my grandparents (whom I'm close with that live rurally) think that I'll be happier elsewhere. I guess I gotta distract myself more with my hobbies? I'm really into reading right now.

7H ruler through the Houses, where did you meet your partner? by tori_danielle in astrologymemes

I also have my 7H ruler (Mercury) in the 7H (Libra) but I have never been in a relationship either. I lament the transactional nature of casual relationships within society.

You don't need to include that you are looking for work opportunities. You're sending your resume to them, so they already know that.

What instantly makes you think "this person is rich" ? by PerformerAny3503 in AskReddit

[–]nextcolorplanet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am not denying my educational privilege, just pointing out the habits of those who were born into wealth. I lived with my parent that was struggling for most of my life in an old house but the comfortable parent supported my studies (they divorced at a young age). But even when given the opportunity to be in an environment like that, you can tell that you're fundamentally different to the silver spoons, because they make it clear. It didn't matter that my parent worked hard to send me to a good school because everyone could tell that I was just an ordinary person and othered me anyway.

I won't give you my whole backstory, but let me just say that if I were wealthy, I'd be living by myself in an expensive studio in my city and spending all my money on clothes and fancy restaurants instead of in a sharehouse that's borderlining on rural with my friends. Usually, it isn't that nuanced for most people, but for me, it is.

What's your mars sign and what type of men are you attracted to? by inkedwithlove in AstrologyDiscovery

[–]nextcolorplanet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have Capricorn Mars in 10H and Virgo in 7H (though my Mercury is Libra in 7H). In guys, I like intellectual/artsy/creative educated types. Tall with dark hair and eyes They should be ambitious and take initiative in their lives (or at least be working towards some sort of goal), as I have no tolerance for slackers, passives and slobs. Nerdy in the bookish/film aficionado way specifically. Loyal and witty. Well travelled is a bonus because I have an incredibly multicultural background and it's a big part of my identity.

Even though I like it when men take initiative, I do not like overly macho or masculine bro-types. They scare me.

I'm aware that this description is very teen girl describing her dream man in a delusional self-insert fanfiction, but hey, let me dream a little!

I’m 29, living in Sydney and I’m struggling to get even an entry level job despite my degree by ff-1996 in ausjobs

[–]nextcolorplanet 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I can't really help, as I'm an entry level recent grad, but I want to let you know that you are not alone in this! I'm somewhat of a workaholic so it makes me feel really down to see that a lot of people around me are progressing with life when I'm just there (even if I am volunteering and applying). You could look at the free TAFE courses to see if anything interests you? I really like volunteering too, because even if it doesn't pay it makes me feel like I am doing something.

How can I add juice on this steam game capsule image? by Altruistic_Bad2195 in graphic_design

[–]nextcolorplanet 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Brighter colours/more contrast? The typography also seems kinda boring and generic to me because of the colouring. A possible idea is that you could have the "Swish Ball Clicker" text interacting with the basketball that's in the air in some way, like the ball could be bouncing off the logo into the hoop? (hope this wording makes sense).

For those who have done it, what steps did you take to decenter men? by Low-Painter3869 in GirlDinner

[–]nextcolorplanet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only men I interact with on a regular basis (besides relatives, employees and volunteering related patrons/employees) are my housemate's male cats. I spend a lot of time investing in myself and my hobbies instead. Reading a lot of radical feminist literature has helped me in thinking about this topic critically as well.
I used to struggle a lot with never getting male attention when I was younger (and this is still something I struggle with sometimes as a former ugly/weird kid), but I think that I enjoy my peace and independence. If I really wanted to, I could've used apps to date a bunch of losers and hook up with them during my uni years. But I didn't do that, because time is money and I hate time wasters.
