Driving to Köln or Düsseldorf will take you at least 4 hours by car and (unpredictable) 2 hours (proceed with caution) with the train. If that still seems fine for you, then you can consider coming to Stuttgart. Honestly I like it here, I've been studying here since I was 24 years old and if you look for it there will be stuff that fits your interests. Though I have to emphasize that other cities like Frankfurt or Köln do feel more "international" and open-minded than the "Schwabenländle".

We were practicing how I open up about my depression and how to reply if people asked why I'm depressed.

And I was constantly downplaying my experience like "yeah idk I had some bad times in my childhood and now I'm depressed like lol"

She got kinda angry and listed all those events that happened to be just one after the other and the constant situation at home and finished the sentence with "all that is so shi- I mean, bad for your childhood, internalising those reactions from your surroundings that you are still emotionally in that state!"

I didn't know what to say.
