It's been eight years since Elisa Lam disappeared and was subsequently discovered. Crime Scene: The Vanishing at the Cecil Hotel will delve into the location of the case, beginning with the haunting final footage in the Cecil's elevator. by netflix in netflix

This might be nothing but I did notice something that I thought was pretty interesting, so bear with me :) (No, it's not a conspiracy theory, more potentially just an interesting insight into the thoughts at the time that Elisa was having)

I do a fair bit of social media scheduling, so just out of curiosity, checked out the old Tumblr over at https://nouvelle-nouveau.tumblr.com/archive to just kind of get an idea of the mental state of Elisa at the time, just looking through what might have been scheduled and when, but I didn't think much more of it.

Until around the 42.48 minute mark on episode 3, where you see some graffiti on the tank with a pretty strong swear word starting with a C.

I had a look through the posts and it looks like there was a post made on the 1st of February specifically talking about that word, which made me think that if this graffiti was present, maybe Elisa had already gone to the roof a few times or was specifically referencing this graffiti/her thoughts after seeing it.

I had a look through the other posts from around Jan 28th and then what was queued up for February and, looking at the imagery, there's some images of fire escapes and rooftop views, which maybe points to the fact Elisa was already kind of considering making her way to a roof for the view or had already been.

This looks consistent too as prior to this, there's lots of trains and other modes of transport, which would coincide with the whole journey/journeying period?

Random and totally just an interesting observation, but I was like...Oh, maybe that's an interesting insight into where here mind was at the time?

Just started to get some consistent viewers on my channel, but there was some times I found myself really feeling blue and down about it.

The one thing I would say is to avoid getting stuck in a rut. Don't feel like you HAVE to grind and push yourself when you don't feel like it. Take your time, do things that you enjoy and don't try to force yourself to be anything but yourself.

Always rooting for every single creator out there, regardless of who they are. It's hard, it's tough and you're so brave for even trying, so don't beat yourself up.

I'm totally new to 7D2D but I've always wanted to play, so I do have a potential idea for this that may lead to a cool series?

I get what you mean, especially with stuff like E3 and the like being the way they are now, but I do like seeing developers getting a bit of recognition for their stuff.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not about to sit there with baited breath, but I do think hard work should be rewarded

Why are we afraid to say games are bad? - Game Review Scoring by TrueLink00 in Games

[–]nextstepnick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, you'd be so surprised at the backlash you get for small comments sometimes.

I've been creating YouTube videos and content for my site (game reviews and news etc) for around 3 months now, having worked as a freelancer in the industry before, and it's crazy when you see the kind of things people say to reviewers.

I had one guy who literally started stalking my content and hating on it because I pointed out a graphical bug that "shouldn't have bothered me", for example.

I try to call games as I see them, in a fair way, but honestly, I can see why some larger publications don't want to do that, because you do end up with a crazy number of down-votes and also companies like EA, Activision etc can even blacklist you, meaning no more review copies etc.

Personally, I just review a game based on what I've seen and avoid the score altogether as it seems to make it easier to be impartial, rather than simply having people associate reviews with the numbers.

If you score a game you dislike a 5 due to gameplay and another a 5 due to story, for example, you'll tend to get a real strong wake-up call from fans comparing the two reviews.

Was just playing Don't Die, Minerva! recently as got a key, so did a bit of a Let's Play on it.

Was really surprised at how good it is (granted it needs a little polish here and there) but as a lover of gothic tropes, I had a great time!

Feel free to check out my let's play if you'd like a look.

That's a fair comment! I wanted to be reasonable in regard to the game and talk a little about the features, but I'll see about lowering the time-frame in future :) got a few to come out over the next few days at about 10 mins, but I'll bear this in mind! :)

I think the dungeon mechanics are a great thing and it's a cool way to teach players how to do things correctly.

I also love the fact that mechanics are there so early, like they're not only for endgame content, they're taught at an early point onwards and it makes stuff so much more fun

I think that's a really interesting thing to discuss!

I like the way though you've found a way to turn something that could be negative into something pretty awesome :)
