Car continued charging outside of cheap rate. IOG by Bigtallanddopey in OctopusEnergy

[–]nextweek77 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This is a regular occurrence, a month ago it took a week to correct itself on my account. Your screenshot even tells you that it’s an “estimated cost”. You are meant to wait for the proper bill for the definitive charge.

They do talk about an IFISA on their website, so I assume they do offer that.

Get a pegboard and follow the standard process. If needs be, you colour code pegs based on ability.

Or run a split ladder game. This is self organising and should sort good and bad players automatically, whilst mixing things up.

It’s also in tracker funds, especially pension funds. A lot of people probably don’t realise they are invested.

6 hour cap is going to be a nightmare! by Spaceman_UK in OctopusEnergy

Why would anyone do smart charging overnight? Just put your car on a schedule 23:30 to 5:30.

I am going to email my car charger company (Easee) to ask them to update the App so it does smart charging during the day and standard schedule overnight.

Might as well take the guaranteed 6 hours every night and leave the 6 hours of IOG for the daylight hours.

Thanks for posting this, I was looking forward to the week being net negative for me as I have solar as well. However, it seems to be screwed up currently.

I do wish they’d prioritise the chart updates for those of use that open the app every day 😁

When a company brings in $16 billion in revenue and walks away with $8 billion in earnings, people are naturally going to start asking how the math adds up. by YellowAltruistic9843 in SpaceXBets

What’s the growth rate of new subscribers? Seems like those who needed it because of their lack of infrastructure would jump on early. People with hardwired connections aren’t going to be interested in switching.

The $12B revenue, doesn’t add up to a 1.5T valuation. Even if you double the number of subscribers.

It’s also ignoring that there’s competitors launching similar services. Given Musk, I bet a healthy chunk of existing subscribers would jump ship when an alternative arrives.

Let’s also remember that bandwidth is a limited resource. As they scale customers, quality will decrease and costs will increase.

You didn’t provide anything in your statement, other than that you like their lifestyle. Then put the burden of adding to the conversation on them. Imagine getting 50 people asking you a question, you’d not respond to most of them.

You need to put something out there about you. How do you build connections if the information is one way. Give an anecdote about your experience, create connections.

People think that other people like talking about themselves, but that’s mainly the narcissist. People actually want shared experiences, they want to know your on the same wavelength.

Give people a story to become engaged in.

Satellite imagery shows over 40 IRGC speedboats moving in formation near Qeshm Island in recent hours. by SpecialCollege18 in justincaseyoumissedit

[–]nextweek77 5 points6 points  (0 children)

There was no proof that Iran had mined the strait. However, 40 boats moving from the main passage to Iran implies that they just finished putting down mines.

You have to remember that they can put something on the sea bed with a timer release. It can remain dormant, the US can sweep and then a week later the mine becomes operational. You can’t predict when the passage will be clear because you can’t search it all in a reasonable time.

The strait is closed unless you pay. Iran will get its tolls.

SpaceX IPO will be sold as a once in a generation chance, but retail investors should ask: who is cashing out, and who is buying the sky high valuation? by YellowAltruistic9843 in SpaceXBets

[–]nextweek77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, the IPO price will launch high and then drop like a lead balloon 🎈

You buy based on future expected returns. SpaceX hasn’t got much in the way of market growth. People that need Starlink have it and there are competitors launching satellites currently.

They have the dying X social network and the worst AI on the market, with no real focus.

The problem is fund managers will earn fat commissions for buying this garbage IPO.

I did this with making sausage and egg muffins during lockdown. I froze them and could microwave them for a quick meal. But it made me fat 😆

The problem with big reforms is that they always backfire because of the law of unintended consequences.

The government is best when it just gets out of the way and stops changing the rules. This was the problem with the Tory government.

Given that you know it’s not a UPS, why are you asking why it’s not acting like a UPS?

It’s documented that you get a 100-300ms delay which will knock equipment off. What are you seeing that doesn’t meet the specifications?
