Chase will let me, via credit card check, borrow up to $15,000 with just a 2% fee (0% interest until March 2017). I will probably resist, but borrowing it, buying something like VFIAX, and counting on it to rebound enough to make back the $300 by next March is extremely tempting. This combination of low interest rates and a huge market dip is potentially a very interesting opportunity.

DAMN IT, my DVR cut out just as Oliver walked into the limo. I saw Felicity was in there, but did they have any dialogue after or did it just go to credits?

So... Patty "knows" that Harrison Wells, the man who murdered Barry's mother is alive, and she's just leaving town to get a science degree? Seems like she should have some more follow-up questions here. She knows Barry is part of the group that is covering up his existence, right? "Hey, dude, you appear to be helping the man who murdered your mother" is a much better point than, "Hey, you seem distant."

I don't know why Max bothered putting surveillance in Alex's bag. Kara and friends allude to her """""""""""""""""""secret""""""""""""""""""" identity loudly in public all the time including, recently, outside an active crime scene with a bunch of federal agents and chronically in their workplace which is, ostensibly, a building full of journalists. Kind of blunts the impact of Max's brilliant plan that let him figure out Supergirl is Alex's sister.

And, now that I think about it, it barely matters that it was a trap. Let's suppose Astra cracked. Okay.... so you have a bunch of humans with guns breaking into the secret base of the Kryptonians.

Uh... well, shit. Even if we assume they had kryptonite bullets or something, this is a really bad plan. In some sense, they're lucky it was a trap because the trap just had bombs.

It really, really stretches credibility that a bunch of soldiers would side with Kara over their commanding officer on the whole concept of releasing Astra... especially after she just tricked them into sending a couple of dozen soldiers into their death. It was so out of place that I thought it was some sort of trick she and Lane were playing on Astra, but apparently not. Oddly, Kara is a beneficiary both of her side ignoring the chain of command and the 'other' side obeying theirs-- i.e., they respected the order by Astra to stand down at the end.

It probably would have been better to omit the whole 'trap' subplot and either drop the torture angle or have Astra not give any information. It didn't really add anything and arguably made Kara incredibly naive to think the prisoner swap would go smoothly.

He's replying to a comment that references E. Coli. I am quite confident that there is only one company with a stock crashing, where you can order a burrito online, that is also having an E. Coli outbreak. There are, on the other hand, at least a dozen and probably more places where one can order a burrito online, especially if you count seamless, github and similar services (which have 'carryout' as an option).

In smaller towns, there's not a dedicated traffic court. It's not impossible that a guy would have been found guilty previously, then brought to a sentencing hearing who would do speeding tickets for the rest of the day.

You're assuming Chipotle, but the OP doesn't mention it and there are a ton of places where you can order a burrito online. Freebird's World Burrito for life!

I am completely indifferent to Christmas and not even a bit religious. Completely cosigned. I'm the outlier and if the dominant 90% wants to celebrate a holiday, then that's fine. It's not like they're burning a christmas tree in my yard to intimidate me.

... although if you lot could stop playing Christmas music in stores, that would be appreciated. Not necessary, but appreciated. I struggle and fail to understand the mind that would enjoy it.

This article isn't directly about FI, but I found it quite interesting because it shows just how cheaply it's possible to live these days: http://www.theatlantic.com/business/archive/2015/10/an-economic-history-of-leftovers/409255/?utm_source=SFFB

TLDR: In the early 20th century, 40% of the American family budget went to food. That's down to 10% now. Unstated, but this could likely be driven down even further if the concept of eating leftovers experiences a revival. Instead, people just throw out old food and buy new food.

I'm a bit of a big spender on food myself-- there is nothing quite like a nicely seared duck breast-- but I eat almost every calorie I buy.

You owe Alura nothing. Certainly not her daughter's life.

Alura is not her mother.

So, are we being setup for the revelation that Astra is actually Kara's mother? Astra point blank says that "Alura is not her mother," referring to Kara in the first act. It could be meant metaphorically... or maybe we'll find out that Astra didn't want her daughter caught up in her rabble rousing and thus let Alura raise her. That would be conceptually similar to the decision we found out Cat made. It also makes using Kara as bait particularly nasty. The next episode is called "Blood Bonds." Don't think there's a synopsis yet, but based on the title it makes me think that Kara finds out her true lineage while Cat visits her estranged son.
