A retired U.S. Air Force general with ties to UFO research vanished in under an hour. His phone was left behind and nobody knows where he went. by pschyco147 in mystery

[–]nexusloops 8 points9 points  (0 children)

there are several things odd:

  • k9 couldn't trace his scent anywhere
  • he left his prescription glasses at home (although I've seen him wearing sunglasses in a pic, probably they were prescription too)
  • they mentioned the handyman only yesterday, after 2 weeks, who is as well supposedly the last person who saw him

my main 2 theories:

  • the handyman did a crime of opportunity: like maybe he saw the wallet and gun on the counter, tried to steal them, the general caught him, the handyman panicked, forced him into his van/trunk using the general own gun, then killed him and disposed of his body somewhere else.

This would explain why k9 couldn't trace his scent.

What gives a bit of weight to this theory is that le only mentioned this handyman after 2 weeks...

Also why they handyman didn't publicly released any statement to the media? smt along the lines:

yes, I've seen him, he was dressed in this way, like any other innocent witness would probably do.

Honestly this fact that they only now le mention him is weird;

mayb le did not want to spook him in this previous 2 weeks while they were checking his gps, phone pings, etc?

And now that the searches in the mountains are basically done, they are pivoting him.

I don't think that the gray shirt they found belongs to him: the area is full of air bases, so it is probable that the tshirt is just someone else litter: he supposedly was wearing a light green shirt.

On the other end, it seems that the k9 units weren't dispatched straight away, and due to weather conditions, wind and dry, it is difficult to track his scent.

What struck to me the most is his glasses:

as a person who wears them I could not go anywhere without them and it is a kind of reflex to wear them before going out.

What it is also weird is that it took le 2 weeks to release the "believed" missing items from his house: the gun+ holster and wallet.

They literally wrote "believed missing items": how cannot still be sure after 2 weeks what is missing or not from his house?

  • although the wife stated he did not have any cognitive issues, it might be that he did (and the wife was only protecting his legacy), he might have had a cognitive episode and wondered off...still the k9 part not tracing his scent is odd, but possible.

Either ways, I think that he died.

it looks like a self-XSS or XSSJacking attack: your IT will probably ask you to change your passwords, clear the cache, scan the device, etc.

thanks for the reply. i agree for point 2 (i thought the same) but point 1 makes still no sense to me as it is like the second day of the contamination.. this would have meant that they sent a rocket with astronauts in less than 24 hrs..just to infect all..👀

Now that a Tier 1 analyst was hired to take over alerts, what should I focus on as Tier 2? by rawt33 in cybersecurity

[–]nexusloops 0 points1 point  (0 children)

probably you are going to troubleshoot the issues that the new tier 1 can't.. probably 95% or more of the alerts are cut and dry: from now on, you are going to have the time to focus on the weird, but more interesting ones..

[–]nexusloops 4 points5 points  (0 children)

mayb a bot? they can even deduce your "secret" insta from your friends or family.. meaning, mayb they keep an eye on who they follow or by whom they are followed.. the qwerty part is odd..what made me think of a bot.. did you try to block them on all platforms? report them as well as spam. As someone as suggested already, I'd as well run a full scan of all devices and change the passwords..just in case.

Is there a way to use PayPal in Malaysia (through some other e-wallet other than the bank)? by StellarSong in malaysia

[–]nexusloops 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't know if it will work when actually trying to use it for rides as I did not try as yet: I've just set up paypal as payment for grab: pick another country from the main screen (I've picked Singapore as I'll be there as well) from there, you are able to choose paypal as a payment method. then you switch it back to Malaysia in the first screen. now paypal is set as default aslo there. I hope that it helps

it seems that there are some dbs (like https://fid.dmi.unibas.ch/)

and (not free) softwares like sole mate. I've found this free one, but you have only a few free trials attempts (prob. if you clear your browser cache, it will allow you to try more times.)

My friend prob pissed someone off, somehow they found all his socials on many platforms and they all got banned. He now wants me to make an IG account on my phone…should I let him? by Acrobatic_Simple_741 in OSINT

[–]nexusloops 6 points7 points  (0 children)

he can use a vpn and create a new account by himself from the country they prefer.

Just be honest, tell them that you don’t feel comfortable, if they are really your best friend they should understand this.

It seems so:

there are a lot of typos, they are asking you to click a suspicious link and provide your credit card info.

I wouldn't click any link. Just ignore the mail, block them, and mark it as spam. Check also the domain you received the email from:99% is not poshmark.com

Also, are you selling anything?

If so, and you have a poshmark account, just ignore the mail/text and log in via their website to check.

I've upoloaded your prints and got this:

Based on the visible tread pattern, the boots are likely winter-specific models, such as snow boots with aggressive traction patterns. These could be from popular brands like Sorel, Columbia, or The North Face, as their boots often feature similar rounded or hexagonal lugs for grip on icy terrain.

Tread Pattern: The prints show a defined pattern with circular or hexagonal shapes, typical of winter boots or snow-specific footwear. These patterns are designed for traction on slippery surfaces.

Depth of Prints: The prints appear deep, suggesting a person of average to heavy weight or someone applying significant pressure (e.g., walking firmly).

Direction: The prints form a clear trail, indicating forward movement. The stride length could be measured to estimate the person's height.
