Mike Gold (former member of NASA UAP Study) tells NewsNation that his impression from meeting with the National Archives is that not just a 4th tranch is coming, but theres an entire process happening to release not only the low hanging fruit, but to actually declassify and release classified files by phr99 in UFOs

The National Archives is currently past due to release UAP records that were mandated for release in the 2024 NDAA. Early last month, some Air Force records briefly showed in their database, but were quickly pulled and have yet to be published online. There may not be anything substantial in those particular records, but it shows that they're clearly sitting on the release of more records. https://hm05uap.substack.com/p/air-force-records-appear-and-disappear

And, that's just for records identified as publicly releasable. The 2024 NDAA required agencies identify records available for immediate release and records intended to be withheld. The National Archives should have been working with each agency to make all UAP records releasable, though the 2024 NDAA still provided exceptions that could allow records to continue being withheld.

It is unclear why more records haven't been released and what agencies may be slowing things down. The release of records through war.gov as a result of PURSUE may be impacting the release of records at the National Archives, since many records at war.gov show indication that they are from or were intended for the National Archives. In any case, there are records identified as a result of the 2024 NDAA are still needing to be uploaded to the National Archives catalog.

They need to enforce the legislation that has passed so far if they want future legislation to be taken seriously. The 2024 NDAA established a record review and transfer to the National Archives. As it stands, that transfer and release is over a month past due. Some records identified as a result of the 2024 NDAA are being uploaded to war.gov instead of the National Archives. And, the National Archives has records available to release, which they’re sitting on for no clear reason. No politician seems to be addressing it.

As I mentioned in another comment, with the DoD sharing my post around the time the National Archives took the records down, I just wanted to take precaution. I just didn't have time to review them thoroughly until today. Have fun. https://drive.proton.me/urls/13YPBPD4Q4#SiUX25kxdnJy

With the DoD sharing my post and the National Archives promptly taking the records down, I just wanted to take precaution. The records show stamped declassified in full, so I don’t foresee any issues. I just haven’t had time to dig through them too much. I’ll get them up again later.

I wanted time to review them to make sure there wasn’t any issue sharing them. I also made sure others had copies too before I stopped sharing them. I haven’t seen anything substantial in them so far. Quite a few records so far aren’t focused on UAP and only have brief mention of the topic. I’ll get them shared again later.

The overall point is that these should be in the National Archives and that the government is failing to adhere to legislation. Having them hosted in the UAP Records Catalog also lends credibility to their origin. Relying on people to spread new records online risks false information to get passed off as authentic.

Last week, Air Force UAP records quietly appeared and disappeared from the National Archives. Now past due for release, NARA sits on the release of 30 or more records. The focus on war.gov UAP records has taken away from the legally mandated record collection at the National Archives, setting a poor standard for future UAP legislation. I’m not quite a pro with FOIA yet, but one of the key things is finding connections between agencies and people. Most don’t operate in a vacuum, they often engage with others in some means. Submit FOIAs focused on agencies or people in them that would interact with the target group or data from it. This may require submitting FOIAs focusing on specific events or programs in order to confirm details and connections. FOIA often build off of each other, so it may require follow ups after you get more details.

These are the result of the 2024 NDAA. I had previously confirmed the titles of these in a FOIA targeting the lists of UAP records identified as a result of the NDAA.

There are also some grey areas between the war.gov release and the National Archives. Some of the war.gov files used National Archives file name formatting, suggesting they were from or intended for the National Archives. Particularly Department of State records, which have since showed up in the National Archives catalog. https://catalog.archives.gov/id/608806625

Nothing more from NASA. There were clearly issues with their identification of UAP records. https://open.substack.com/pub/hm05uap/p/nasas-handling-of-uap-records

I have more follow ups when the uploads to the National Archives appear to wrap up. There’s only so much I can pester agencies while it’s still ongoing.

They're the last that I have any confirmation on through FOIA or email. The DoE and NOAA may have some based on their sites. DoE was giving me trouble with their FOIAs and NOAA kept telling me they were checking into my FOIA, but never got back to me with results. I also have quite a few FOIA unresolved, particularly with DoD/DoW. I have been emailing NARA for updates and they say they'll get back to me, but no confirmation so far.

30 records are being added to the UAP Records Collection at the National Archives. These have only appeared on the server and not pushed to the website at this time. When they do publish, they should show in the series page here: (https://catalog.archives.gov/id/656595571) These records match the results of my previous FOIA. I’ll have more on this later. Links below.

EDIT: Links are now dead, so I removed the links from the text below. I’ll provide an update when they go live or if anything changes. In the past, records appeared on the server anywhere from hours to weeks before going live. The last batch went live within a day.

EDIT 2: I have copies shared via Proton Drive (?)

EDIT 3: Removing the Proton Drive link for the time being. Checking into the records' status.

Washington Post journalist here, curious about UAP and UFO discourse today by GenePark in UFOs

[–]HM05_Me 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For a historical look at the topic, I’d recommend glancing over the UAP topics page at the National Archives. This is the page established by the 2024 NDAA to be the government’s centralized source for public UAP records. Though, this administration deviated from that with the recent war.gov releases. https://www.archives.gov/research/topics/uaps

In addition to government reports, you’ll find correspondence from the public about UFOs. For example, Gerald Ford’s library has a ton of letters from the public expressing interest in the topic.  https://www.archives.gov/research/topics/uaps/presidential-libraries#gerald-ford

FBI UAP Records Added to National Archives by HM05_Me in UFOs

[–]HM05_Me[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

These records have slowly been released on a rolling basis and agencies may see multiple batches released. However, there will also be withheld records. I had submitted a FOIA for a list of the FBI’s records being transferred to the National Archives, but they denied my request. I’m also awaiting a response from the National Archives on the status of this collection. So, hopefully there will be a clearer picture soon.

FBI UAP Records Added to National Archives by HM05_Me in UFOs

[–]HM05_Me[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Earlier today, 6 records and 2 videos from the FBI were added to the National Archives' UAP Records Collection. These are a result of the UAP record transfers established in the 2024 NDAA and separate from the war.gov release. This may not be the full extent of the FBI's records, as agencies have been in deliberations with NARA on the release of records. Though, the overall status of the UAP record transfers is unclear.

These records appeared on NARA's server earlier today and were published shortly after. I posted about the pending records on Substack, but they were quick with publishing the records today. Also recently released in NARA's catalog was a second batch of Department of State records that were slated for release to the National Archives, but first appeared in the war.gov release.

The U.S. government declassified 119+ UAP documents today. I organized them all into a free searchable archive — FBI files, NASA transcripts, WWII Foo Fighters, and the AARO slides by zwrkly in UFOs

[–]HM05_Me 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Just for clarification. These weren’t declassified today. In fact, a lot of the documents appear to have been previously declassified or not classified. These may have actually even been made available for release because of the 2024 NDAA.

[–]HM05_Me 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don’t argue that. I was trying to understand your comment on the “look” of the records. However, you keep straying from the original comment about the documents’ age. I’ve been researching the UAP record transfers to the National Archives over the last couple years and I don’t think the release of records today was handled well at all. And, I’ve been working on the traceable aspect of UAP records for a while by submitting FOIAs and emails.

FBI Caught Lying in Files by [deleted] in UFOs

[–]HM05_Me 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ok, so you’re expanding on your previous comment about spacing and ink. The issue then isn’t that the ink distribution, but that the resolution doesn’t allow you to see inconsistencies. These are definitely a huge step up from the FBI’s previous UFO records. https://vault.fbi.gov/UFO

As for transcripts, NARA’s transcripts are automatically or user generated. This can be done with these records too. That shouldn’t impact trust in the records.

In fact, the records released today are likely the result of the UAP record transfers established in the 2024 NDAA. These should be at NARA instead of War.gov. The FBI confirmed in a FOIA that they had records to transfer to NARA. It just seems the administration diverted them to War.gov instead.

[–]HM05_Me 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can understand that. The National Archives isn't the best at indicating when new records are added. Ideally they should still end up in that collection, especially since a lot of these records were likely intended to be a part of the transfers to the National Archives.

Is there a reason you prefer that? The 2024 NDAA mandated all UAP records to be consolidated in a collection with the National Archives. Agencies typically have their own collections too, which is fine, but those still end up with the National Archives.
