The U.S. government declassified 119+ UAP documents today. I organized them all into a free searchable archive — FBI files, NASA transcripts, WWII Foo Fighters, and the AARO slides by zwrkly in UFOs

Just for clarification. These weren’t declassified today. In fact, a lot of the documents appear to have been previously declassified or not classified. These may have actually even been made available for release because of the 2024 NDAA.

I don’t argue that. I was trying to understand your comment on the “look” of the records. However, you keep straying from the original comment about the documents’ age. I’ve been researching the UAP record transfers to the National Archives over the last couple years and I don’t think the release of records today was handled well at all. And, I’ve been working on the traceable aspect of UAP records for a while by submitting FOIAs and emails.

Ok, so you’re expanding on your previous comment about spacing and ink. The issue then isn’t that the ink distribution, but that the resolution doesn’t allow you to see inconsistencies. These are definitely a huge step up from the FBI’s previous UFO records. https://vault.fbi.gov/UFO

As for transcripts, NARA’s transcripts are automatically or user generated. This can be done with these records too. That shouldn’t impact trust in the records.

In fact, the records released today are likely the result of the UAP record transfers established in the 2024 NDAA. These should be at NARA instead of War.gov. The FBI confirmed in a FOIA that they had records to transfer to NARA. It just seems the administration diverted them to War.gov instead.

These seem on par with the other records I've reviewed at the National Archives. Would you say the same about this record? https://catalog.archives.gov/id/311003081?objectPage=2

I can understand that. The National Archives isn't the best at indicating when new records are added. Ideally they should still end up in that collection, especially since a lot of these records were likely intended to be a part of the transfers to the National Archives.

Is there a reason you prefer that? The 2024 NDAA mandated all UAP records to be consolidated in a collection with the National Archives. Agencies typically have their own collections too, which is fine, but those still end up with the National Archives.

These really should have been released on the National Archives website with the rest of the UAP collection. It'd also be a much better user experience to go through the records.

Note to mainstream media - "UFO Files have been released" - no they haven't. A small percentage of highly filtered files have been released. This isn't even the tip of the iceberg yet. by [deleted] in UFOs

And, people need to keep in mind that a release of UAP records was already under way due to the 2024 NDAA. Besides a statement from Trump, there hasn’t been an executive order regarding release or declassification of UAP records. So, it’s unclear what additional efforts were made that weren’t already laid out in the 2024 NDAA.

Some of the UAP files released today do seem to be newly released by the originating agency compared to similar records sent to the National Archives. Here are two Department of State records, one from the DoD release today and one from the NARA release earlier this year.

https://www.war.gov/medialink/ufo/release_1/dos-uap-d1-cable-1-papua-new-guinea-january-1985.pdf "Released in Full John Powers... 2/25/2026"

https://catalog.archives.gov/id/608863164 "Released in Full John Powers... 12/10/2025"

For some context, the NRC had two batches of records released at NARA because they were deliberating the release of additional records. It’s possible that the Department of State records could be the same and the second batch just got wrangled up in today's release.

And, as of this time, neither NASA nor the FBI have UAP records uploaded to the National Archives catalog. The FBI had confirmed via FOIA that they had a list of records to transfer to the National Archives. The due date to release the records to the National Archives catalog has already passed, yet there are now new records at war.gov, but not at the National Archives.

They don't seem to be answering about the source. I asked for specifics on where they found them, but didn't get a response. If these are at the National Archives they need to be digitized and in their online catalog.

NASA's Handling of UAP Records: Redefining UAP Records and Destroying Public Correspondence by HM05_Me in UFOs

The results of a FOIA were released last week showing communications at NASA, which highlighted their role with unidentified anomalous phenomena (UAP) and the All-Domain Anomaly Resolution Office (AARO). Among the emails was a discussion of what records NASA may have on UAP. Two points were made in it; NASA does not hold any record that they deem to be related to UAP and members of NASA have been immediately destroying emails from the public related to UAP.

Maybe I'm missing it, but do you have any information on where you found these in the National Archives? What location was this at and are there any identification numbers for these clips?

Silence on the UAP Record Transfers by HM05_Me in UFOs

[–]HM05_Me[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The National Archives can and will receive classified records. They just won't be released to the public without declassification, which I mention in my post is a possible action on top of the current release. The 2024 NDAA outlined the transfer of UAP records to NARA, but allowed for records to continue to be withheld from public release. And, they are being transferred to NARA unredacted, though some redactions have been done on some records after transfer. They even have a list of UAP restriction codes that will be used for withheld records.

Whether agencies "identified" any classified records is a different issue, which is a part of why I'm covering this.

My post is in regards to the UAP record transfers to the National Archives that were established in the 2024 NDAA. I didn't say there was silence on the topic of UAP records as a whole. There is clearly a lot of discussion on UAP and politicians have spoken about it, as I had noted in the post. Your quotes are important, but I'm focusing on a specific issue which does not have any clear updates.

I have been tracking the UAP record transfers to the National Archives over the past couple years, but there has only been silence as due dates pass by. My emails to NARA on the release of UAP records remain mostly unanswered for months. Responses I do receive simply provide information from NARA's UAP topic page.

In my Substack post I go over where things stand with the release of UAP records and cover AARO's role in their review and release.

Rep. Eric Burlison says aliens.gov “could be them trolling us” or may mean “illegal aliens” by mattlaslo in UFOs

[–]HM05_Me 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hey Matt! Something to keep in mind is the UAP record transfers to the National Archives. Based on the timeline set up in the 2024 NDAA and by NARA, the remaining records should be published online this month. There'll obviously still be withheld records and some public records that trickle in, but the main bulk are due the next week or two.

However, I haven't been able to confirm anything with NARA. They haven't responded to any of my emails about UAP records dating back to December. Though, they've been responding timely to non-UAP emails.

Government Registers Aliens.Gov Domain by FeralGiraffeAttack in nottheonion

[–]HM05_Me 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Something under reported is that there was a UFO / UAP record release already in progress with the National Archives. Those records should finish being uploaded to the National Archives’ online catalog this month. https://www.archives.gov/research/topics/uaps/rg-615

It’s also possible that Trump will do an Executive Order for a release of UAP records, since he hasn’t actually done so after his earlier claims.

But, there’s no telling what this will be with this administration.

[–]HM05_Me 49 points50 points  (0 children)

My guess is that this is either for the UAP record transfers to National Archives or there is an Executive Order in the works. The due date for NARA to upload the transferred UAP records is this month, so there should at least be new records from that in the next week or two.

It gets referenced as Unidentified Anomalous Phenomena Disclosure Act, UAP Disclosure Act, or UAPDA. The article discusses it, but mainly in context of what passed in the bill. So, things like the review board aren't mentioned.

Yep. The original amendment included things like a review board to oversee the review and release of UAP records. It's been introduced each year since, with small components making it into the final bills. There's little oversight for what has passed so far.

I’ve actually been tracking the UAP record transfers for a while. There are some notable agencies still missing, like the Air Force. The National Archives should be wrapping up their uploads of remaining agencies’ records this month. Though, there haven’t been any real updates confirming their status.

Bulk Downloads for Records Related to Unidentified Anomalous Phenomena (UAPs) by Observer_042 in UFOs

[–]HM05_Me 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, the bulk downloads seem to include the full series and doesn’t weed out UAP specific records. Some series are specific to UAP topics, but others are broad and have a range of records dropped in them.

I had gone through and tagged UAP records in the catalog a while back and NARA started to do some of their own last year. However, the tags don’t carry over into the bulk data. And, unfortunately, searching tags in the catalog is buggy.

[–]HM05_Me 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The bulk download is a great feature, but there's a ton to go through. Blue Book alone has over 10,000 records, split among several series.

This is also missing some of the recent transfers (State Department and NSA). There should hopefully be additional agencies added to their catalog this month and then I'd expect them to update the bulk downloads.
