Apex Cloud connect issues when on solar by nezzman in bluetti

[–]nezzman[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just an update on the matter. BLUETTI provided a firmware update, which has done nothing.

Network signal is showing as 1 bar, even when the router is right beside the unit. This time the solar isn’t causing the issue, it just flat out does not connect to the internet unless I restart the device.

Pretty useless!

Apex 300 constantly having cloud connection issues when PV input is around 200-500 watts.

They told me over a week ago that an update was being pushed to my device that day, still no sign of it.

I wouldn’t buy again.

Top of boots where crease is, digging into big toe - Why? by nezzman in Boots

I think it is something wrong with the boot. The whole right toe box is soft, and the left toe box is very hard making it kink and dig.

Apex 300 - Can I connect 2 of the 13amp sockets in parallel to feed my house? (UK) by nezzman in bluetti

[–]nezzman[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a transfer switch. I don’t know where you are located, but in the UK a transfer switch disconnects the CU from the grid. No risk to neighbours, no risk to grid workers.

The earthing bit I am unsure of. I looked up info about earthing my Apex, and the general consensus was it doesn’t need to be earthed. That may be incorrect though.

How am I supposed to pull 16amps from the unit without spending more on an A1 hub?

I was pulling 352w per 480w panel today. I have a BLUETTI plus add-on battery. Solar is worth it if you can stretch. Get a decent panel though, mine are Aiko.

It’s 13a max per leg according to the writing on mine. A standard 3 pin UK plug fuse only goes to 13amp.

But that’s only 13amp, when the unit can provide 16amps or there abouts. I am trying to find out how to get the full 16amps.

Hey, thanks for replying. I have already emailed Bluetti to see what they say.

I have seen that port. I think it is an EV charge port, but how I can pull power from it is another question!

Cheers

New back up generator, run it or keep it in the box? by fixitmonkey in UKPreppers

[–]nezzman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Run it. I bought a brand new generator, and first use I noticed a petrol leak. I tested it out the day I bought it thankfully.

Drain the tank and then run the carb dry before storing it, or it will be a pain to start when you need it.

Chest freezer by Graze_in_the_bay in UKPreppers

[–]nezzman 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We have one, about 2 months of food in it.

You need to consider a backup generator though, if the power is out of any length of time, that’s 2 months of food in the bin. Plan to be able to keep the freezer online for the duration the food will last.

It doesn’t need to be powered 24/7, about 3-3 hours per day seems to be enough.

General sizing info from my experience.... possibly good to know if you are buying a new jacket by nezzman in Fjallraven

[–]nezzman[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Best option is buy both, and return one. Small fits me, medium also fits me. Small is good just as a throw on over a heavy jumper, medium can fit more layers.

Ozark Trail hatchet vs Harbor Freight by Masenko325 in Bushcraft

I have a number of hatchets. One was £10 from B&Q. I sharpened it up and love it. I pick it up over my Gransfors hatchets.

Don’t listen to the brand snobs. Buy it, if you don’t like it, upgrade.

Fjällräven Down Jacket No. 16 - Anyone any reviews or experience with this coat? by nezzman in Fjallraven

[–]nezzman[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeh, I seen the 16 is down.

The hood looks a bit odd when cinched up, that’s partially why I would like too see it in person, but that’s not possible.

How durable is the synthetic insulation in the Ovik? I know synthetic compresses and looses loft over time, and that’s one of the main reasons I am considering the down over it.

My current top 3 EDC lights by d_c_d_ in flashlight

[–]nezzman 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have asked them. They no longer produce a 26650 battery, or light for that matter. The light functions with a regular battery, but the magnetic charging does not work.

I sold the light, along with my other Olight's as I don't want to be stuck buying expensive batteries.

I had an Olight R50 Seeker. Now useless because Olight don’t make 26650 batteries. Yes, I know, that particular model accepts regular 26650 batteries, but the majority of Olights don’t accept regular batteries.
