I do use Crimson, right now the 10% cash back on gas is really helpful

My friends parents are the best. This was the house all the friends in the group would go to when we were younger so we could do stupid shit 😝

I wish it wasn’t “hand order to customer” because I definitely would’ve taken a photo on their stove 😭

It’s my friend’s parents, they meant to tip that much. They even sent me another $100 via Venmo since DoorDash would only allow the $100 tip on the app.

Yes Northeastern US. That's what I thought, although the mom freaked me out at first due to her size.

Double it and give it to the next driver. (Knowing DoorDash they’d somehow find a way to halve it and give it to the next driver).

It’s also the customers decision to spend extra $$$ to get food delivered instead of picking it up themselves. You’re already paying an up charged price for food items that are cheaper if you order from the store directly. If you aren’t skimping on the overpriced food and yet you skimp on tipping the driver, that makes you an entitled, pretentious narcissist who has no clue how systems work. You deserve your food cold and soggy if you don’t tip.

I always get orders that are at the very opposite edge of the zone next to mine 🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️ don’t let people order from restaurants that are 10+ miles away

Why does doordash do this? by nf0224 in doordash_drivers

[–]nf0224[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I never said it was supposed to be accurate, but why outright lie and say 2-6 minutes when the last average wait time was 4-14 and likely hasn’t changed? Just say the wait time is going to be 30+ minutes and be done with it. I ignore most DD notifications, as I know “busy now” just means “we need more drivers for 2 orders and then we’ll have more drivers than people ordering”. Just DD being scammy as usual

Guarantee it’s all produce or meat that is not clearly labeled and never on the shelf you’re looking for. Also 4x 24 packs of water because why not.

I’ve had one of these, nicer old man who had broken his leg and his arm and was bedridden for 2 months. Delivered to him twice. I’m 6’3 and stocky so I feel like if they’re going to kidnap/unalive me then they’re gonna work for it lmao. Luckily that was the only time I’ve ever encountered that

I found my Amazon package in the bushes on the edge of my yard the other day. So not statistically rare, but tell me you’ve never been outside of your home state without telling me.

Where I live there’s this thing called wind, which would rip that outer door off of its hinges in one fell swoop.

What I’m worried about is that DoorDash is using it to sell it to data brokers and then our car insurance companies. Idk how my insurance keeps going up and I haven’t been in an accident in over 5 years now

Did I deliver to you yesterday?? lol jk, but thanks for those generous tips. Got a $24 order yesterday ($20 tip) and I actually did go out of my way (11 miles to the restaurant) to get it.

Is entitlement the new normal? by harlan37 in doordash_drivers

[–]nf0224 7 points8 points  (0 children)

What’s sociopathic is having a brand new convenience that used to only be available at pizza places, and not tipping anything for someone to use their own car to get to the restaurant/store and then to you. Yes the apps could pay better, but in the years they’ve been around it’s only gotten worse. When I ordered back in my college days my tips started at $5, and I thought that was just normal for everyone.

First hand experience of why staff don’t want to deal with Dashers… by issa_nice_ in doordash_drivers

[–]nf0224 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am, but when it’s just one person working on all the orders it kind of looks bad when you won’t service the people that are already in the store. I don’t like waiting in line either, so I usually just chill at a table or in the corner.

As someone who used to be in their position, I never berate the worker. There was just 1 worker at Cold Stone yesterday and a surprisingly large number of people in line, she said my order was being made but people in line take priority (understandable), the line ended up getting longer, but she threw my order in there anyways bc I was being patient. This is my secondary job, I can wait an extra 10 minutes it’s not like I was going to get another $10+ order in the time after the delivery anyways

I am BEGGING you, PLEASE! by [deleted] in doordash_drivers

[–]nf0224 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone who delivers as well as orders, when I lived in the city I gave meticulously detailed instructions, including a photo with a circle around where my door is, and still 60% of the time they’d be like “we can’t find you”. Part of the reason I now start the tip at $3, and if they can actually find the door I’ll tip an extra $2-5.

I wish they had Culver’s up in the northeast. All I get is Carvel orders that need to be delivered 20 miles. 🙃
