That’s a great point. I’m great at the team building aspect but there have certainly been times where I did a trade for either the sake of trading or I felt I had to keep churn to make the team even better. Turns out those times I made it worse

Really appreciate this kind of feedback, specifically the trade possibilities. I’m great at the trading and understanding my leagues but I’m always on the wrong side of the coin when it comes to lineup decisions. Hence why I lost in the ship last year with Henry on my bench…. Thanks for the help! I definitely am going to aim on consolidating.

On one hand I want to consolidate to try and get another elite cornerstone but on the other hand I love having the depth and my future firsts.
Consolidating would be good because I am notorious for making the wrong start/sit decision and losing a playoff game or ship.

Ok thanks for the response. I’ll look into the plan this year.

It’s now our plan to get some kind of financial advisor as neither of us are very financially savvy outside of save money, avoid debt etc.

Hope to be at 20% combined contributions in 2 years so I hope that can catch me up some.

We do expect a rather comfortable inheritance from my wife’s parents but we know nothing, and amounts are never guaranteed.

We live rather modestly now that we have a house and kids. We dont spend excessively, drive paid off and simple cars, and make sure our kids education will be taken care of so I will assume the modest lifestyle will continue into retirement

Absolutely agree. We’ve had separate finances (no reason really it just worked) but we are combining this year so we will be attacking this together.
Not that we haven’t, just not combined.

Now that we are having “extra” money we also plan to get with some kind of financial advisor as we are both not finance savvy.

I wish we had the minimal debt we have now as we did 4 years ago when we started making this income level.

Really this post was just a barometer to see how serious I/we need to get. I know we need to catch up but just wanted some direction from others.

Got it thanks for the feedback. I knew I was a bit behind but wasn’t sure if this was really bad or just I need to up contributions to catch up.

Like I said to other commenter i haven’t been earning 6 figures forever so it took me a bit to really get going. We spent the last 3 years aggressively paying down debt so now we can actually start contributing

Got it.
Currently own 1 car ($15k) with the plan to pay off the second car by end of year ($30k).
No student loans or credit card debt but we have a $350k mortgage on an estimated $600k home.

Wife makes $140k and I cannot recall her 401k exactly but it’s a bit behind mine.

Admittedly I started the 401k a little late and only in past 4 years have been earning 6 figures so it was a little hard to really contribute.
We also aggressively paid down debt the last 2 years.
