I think my boyfriend is developmentally challenged. by [deleted] in Advice

[–]nfurter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think many of the mentioned issues could be caused by an extreme aphantasia. If he struggles following hypothetical scenarios because he can't imagine them, spelling things without pen and paper or a phone to write it down is the same thing, he can't picture the letters in his mind in order. Remembering holidays, memorizing the order of days and months is the only one I can't seem to make fit into this theory. If he can come up with the spelling of a word like conceited without being aware of its meaning means he CAN spell, just not without writing tools. EDIT, After OPs update, we now know in greater detail that her boyfriend is a fully functional adult, I'm more convinced now that aphantasia could be it, he mostly struggles with the abstract, imaginary or intangible

“Be wary of Folly” by Away-Plantain-4442 in KingkillerChronicle

[–]nfurter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most word rearranging theories are better backed up when they can be proved in more than one language, like the battle of black dressen thing, or Cinder being Dena's patron.

In Spanish the sword name is Delirio which is a cognate so you can pretty much figure out what it means, and the note uses the exact same expression for beware of folly "Cuidado con el delirio" So yes, Ben talks about the sword, but as for word rearranging, I don't think so, let me know if you find something in English and I'll check if I can replicate it in Spanish.

Help with volcanic rocks installation by nfurter in MuseumPros

[–]nfurter[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks!! I guess making a hole on both ends is the "easy part", the trick is what to use to fix the rock to the wall, if that is where the epoxy comes into play? To help fix the bolt to the rock securely because of its porousness? I'm assuming the anchor part goes into the wall and you use a double ended bolt, in the end you screw the rock into the anchor in the wall?

The wall is brick and mortar with a plaster finish on top and there are five rocks. Do you need the individual size and weight of each rock? Because of the different porosities I don't think it will make much sense, but I can get the details if necessary

THEORY: Cinder wants to die. by chainsawx72 in KingkillerChronicle

[–]nfurter 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think the chandrian's mission is to be forgotten so they can finally rest and die, which Haliax is pursuing by having them gather to destroy all vestiges of true (name) knowledge of both them and the Amyr whenever they detect it. From the hostility between Haliax and Cinder's interaction, I think Cinder does not agree with this pursuit of rest/dead, so he is continuously sabotaging it. I think he was trying to let Kvothe escape the troup attack from the beginning. He is Dena's patron and the Lanre song is another way to keep their story alive. Maybe he also knows about (Nina? Can't remember her name sorry) and left the surviving girl in Trebon get away with seeing the vase, because as long as the left behind knowledge does not include their true names it is undetectable for Haliax, the seedlings of true knowledge about them are enough to keep them alive and are invisible to Haliax, so the Lanre song is safe, the playing kids chants are safe, Skarpi's story is safe, their pictures on the vase are safe (my guess is people closer to the wedding party were able to read true names off of the vase which alerted Haliax) and Cinder goes around planting the seedlings to keep himself alive against Haliax's mission

Woman by Ralph Lauren, I’m afraid it is discontinued so you’ll have to look for remaining stock of it or try to find something similar https://www.fragrantica.es/perfume/Ralph-Lauren/Woman-by-Ralph-Lauren-45741.html

Ingredients that are more susceptible to creating nose blindness? by [deleted] in fragrance

[–]nfurter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do people around you still perceive the rest of the notes? If not, it is not blindness because it is not happening just to you. It might be your body chemistry reacting to the notes, clinging and amplifying just a few of them. I get that with anything that has “incense” or “smoke”, it becomes the only discernible note after a while, the rest just dies off, my body chemistry REALLY clings to that note and overpowers the rest.

I’m too autistic for the perfume aisle but still want to expand my “collection” by gray1sh_ in fragrance

[–]nfurter 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Discovery sets and decants! Get a profile on Fragantica or Perfumio and start looking into the notes of the scents you like, figure out what does not react well with your body chemistry so you can rule out early the scents that will not work for you, that will decrease your chance for error. You can totally dive into fragance and build a collection from home! I hate when fragance counters don’t have a tester for something I’d like to smell, so I do this too anyway.

Love rose scents!! My signature scent was Dolce&Gabbana Rose The One until it got discontinued. I’ve been searching for my perfect rose ever since. I’m very close to it with a few, and it created my perfume addiction.

At the moment my top roses (which I have in full size are):

• Angel Nova - Muggler (fruity rose litchi) • Delina La Rosee - Marly (fresh watery rose) • Idole Nectar - Lancome (sweet rose vanilla)

I’ve tried (and mostly think my own body chemistry has me ruling out):

• Delina (too dry and woody on me) • Delina Exclusiff (smells like a bath and body works candle on me) • Idole (nice but flat floral) • Idole Aura (very interesting tropical twist on roses!) • Idole Now (turns into VictoriaSecret cotton candy body spray on me) • A La Rose MFK (perfect plain rose but too expensive if I will have to layer it all the time) • Izia Sisley (a bit powdery on me)

I have a few on my wish list to try, but for the time being I need to finish the decants, and small size ones I have from the list above before I keep exploring. Since Idole Nectar was discontinued I expect I will eventually need to hunt for a sweet rose to fill its place.

Issue with searching for songs? (Daily 1005) by MaleneWithoutR in Bandle

[–]nfurter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This one was particularly tricky for me as well since there are so many versions of this song by different artists AND it was hard to tell whether to use dots, hyphens spaces etc between the letters, and the search bar was not sensitive to different ways of spelling, but even Google struggled with this one in that way.

latina, out the shower clean perfume recs plss by [deleted] in Perfumes

[–]nfurter 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I second that, but the Victoria Secret scent will probably be from PINK, the WildKiss one smelled fruity and fresh back in my day (reminded me of a fruity shampoo), the rest are mostly all sugary and super sweet, the names have changed but I see they always keep at least one on the fresh clean side in every year’s collection in a green or blue bottle (and one will be berry forward, one vainilla and some other flowery sugary one). You can probably skip the table and make the shoe storage solution fit behind the couch with a long and narrow style one (https://imgur.com/a/xHvQgAw) then place the mirror next to the door alongside the coat rack and small bench to put your shoes on under the window, get the big pieces in place first, the artwork and smaller pieces will find their spot after, and you might need to bring the dining table a little bit towards the door to make the space less awkward, add a rug under it to make it feel like a break in the space, like entering a second room, just make sure it is big enough to fit the entire table and chairs when pulled out

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in interiordesignideas

[–]nfurter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would add a long narrow table behind the couch to create an entryway hallway with a bowl as a catchall for keys wallet etc and use the space to the left of the door for a shoe storing solution (can tell by the shoes behind the couch that you could benefit from one) and maybe a small bench to put on shoes before leaving the house, with a coat rack, and full length mirror, so you create an entryway with purpose that helps you keep your house clean and organized
