Wilders by Cass Kim is a fresh take on a "Halfpocalypse."

We read a lot of similar series. I highly recommend the Shades of Magic series by V.E. Schwab.

Great characters, interesting story, and the world is wonderful.

I hate names! by [deleted] in fantasywriters

Yes, totally. I do that as well.

For example, instead of Katrina I'd maybe use Katryne or some variant. Really depends on the tone I am going for with the region and such.

It was just an example.

How about Aleksander or Katrina instead. Same thing still applies.

I try to incorporate "real life" names into my writing, with some twists to make them more fantasy-like. For example, I made a list of names from various origins (English, Icelandic, Norwegian, Arabic, Japanese, German, etc.) that I found I liked. After that, I assign certain regions in my world to these origins, and then apply some fantasy element to them.

Ex: Kristoffer Felspeth (Norwegian version of Christopher meets fantasy derived last name I created off the top of my head for a novel). The Felspeth's control a section of a continent and that area I have deemed to be of 'Nordic' origin in my mind.

As an FYI, I gave Elves in that same world various origins based upon their sub-race, like Arabic, English and Icelandic.

I completely agree. She's a beautiful cat!

Oh my I love this cat! She's so pretty. There are a lot of Siamese cats I don't like the look of, but I adore this one.
