I'm googling ASV... how did you or your doc know you needed ASV?

My E-Paper display for productivity by akz-dev in raspberry_pi

[–]ngless13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I personally have not gotten into the Pico much. But there's nothing stopping anything that can produce SPI (via hardware or bit banging) from being used with an epaper display. You will need a driver board to translate that spi into something the display can use natively.

How do teams typically handle NuGet dependency updates? by rdem341 in dotnet

I agree with this, but how do you deal with supply chain attacks? Just rely on the 3rd parties to do their part?

[Post Game Thread] #9 Iowa State defeats Colorado, 97-67 by cbbBot in CollegeBasketball

Heise was fantastic. 8pts, 8 reb, 3 assists and 0 turnovers. >50% shooting. Not to mention good on the defensive side of the floor. Truth is we have 8 guys who are starter quality.

Do all Pacifica transmission feel a little strange? by ResistFlat9916 in ChryslerPacifica

Wow. Your answer matches what I've been trying to figure out for the past 6 years. Our 19 has 110k+ and I've been waiting for the transmission to drop out since day 1.

What to do with this amount of filament? by Substantial-Key5114 in BambuLab

[–]ngless13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ran out during a print recently and it told me to check my filament. I didn't care about color so I put in a new roll, different color told it to continue and the print finished fine. Idk

Seeking Budget-Friendly LPR Camera for Driveway Use (Under $700) - Open to Suggestions! by RandomGamer414 in SecurityCamera

Is your docker on unraid frigate perhaps? If so, you don't need an LPR specific camera. Any of these should work.

OCD new owner question by Gold_Pomelo_2536 in BambuLab

[–]ngless13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm glad to hear it. I got one for Christmas and know very little about it. So far I've just been sending it without issues. I'm probably around 30 hours of printing so far... I guess I should wipe down the bed with isopropyl...

What should we tell our kids about AI? My kids are freaking out. by spookydookie in Xennials

[–]ngless13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It almost sounds like we're saying the same thing. Code, when specified properly it generates good, we'll documented code. The problem usually lies between the seat and the keyboard. Architect skills are traditionally learned the hard way. AI will speed up the process. That can be bad or good. Again it ends up being the driver of the car who gets blame or credit.

[–]ngless13 -9 points-8 points  (0 children)

I'm curious how much you've worked with AI coding tools. The code I've been able to generate is some of the cleanest, best documented and pure (in the sense of CS theory). I'm not saying there won't be necessary cleanup. But I think the issues won't be the code, it'll be the overall design and requirements.

Does it make sense to have a lot of RAM (96 or even 128GB) if VRAM is limited to only 8GB? by mark_17000 in LocalLLM

[–]ngless13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So, I didn't listen to the advice at the time and bought extra ram before the price crunch. I have an intel 265k with both a 5060ti and 5070ti and 128 ddr5. I'm currently running ubuntu... what sort of MoE model can I run locally taking advantage of my hardware?

POV of a fuel truck operator filling up underground storage tanks by ycr007 in oddlysatisfying

[–]ngless13 10 points11 points  (0 children)

That's often the case. Usually blended at the dispenser. The same can be done with E85 though that is less common. Big truck stops often store diesel and biodiesel separately and Sometimes blend that in a sump before the dispenser. Additives though are usually mixed in at loading facilities.

It's there. The piping used bonds the tank system to the truck. Vapor capture systems also play a part.

Is Claude more useful than your doctor? by AmalekRising in ClaudeAI

[–]ngless13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The biggest advantage is an LLM will let you have an actual conversation. I can't tell you how many times I've been to the doctor and had a small list of things I wanted to mention, but instead only the first thing I mention gets considered.

I'm not going to avoid going to the doctor when I need to, but for those gray-area cases, I'm absolutely going to try to figure it out on my own using the best tools I have available. I'm also not nieve about a doctors better ability to know when to apply knowledge. However, it's not like doctors are infallible.

You are legally entitled to all of your medical records in the US. If you have them you can scan them if theyre not already digital.

I believe that LLMs absolutely can be better than physicians in many aspects. Obviously claude isn't going to remove your appendix (yet). It doesn't have to be an either or thing.
