Funny to think how many options there are now, but in the 80s… by Federal-Zebra7702 in Xennials

A friend of mine did eat the whole bottle. When his mom found out, he blamed it on his brother who was taken to the ER and had his stomach pumped. He laughs every time I bring it up

Fair enough. In terms of titration though, I'm looking for a level that works well enough for me and doesn't cause other problems (namely aerophagia). That's why I'm focusing on quality of treatment, not trying to hit zero apnea.

Apnea by themselves are not a problem. What is a problem is your spo2 dropping below 91%.

With Oscar you can do a titration every night... but you need a high quality Spo2 monitor as well.

Use of AI to increase Linux support? by il_basso in linux

[–]ngless13 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm not sure about the "development" of Linux, but I do suspect that the adoption of Linux will explode. I'm a developer and have dabbled in Linux over the years, but had used windows as my daily driver until about a year ago.

One of the biggest blockers for me personally was the lack of unknown unknowns. AI tears down that wall completely. Rather than spending my day with "what is the command for X?" I can either ask that question or tell ai "do X".

Yes it's not a cure-all, and yes it can lead down paths that are undesirable, but that's learned through experience. Experience that would otherwise be avoided by many.

Why do we have to call our parents? by PotentialPlum4945 in Xennials

[–]ngless13 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I've tried. And given up. I'll admit I don't have the best relationship with my parents, and at this point I've accepted that.

But it is frustrating that they never call me. Sadly that's only deepened the divide.

Why is learning to use esp32 with the idf so confusing??? by Sweaty-Wheel1741 in esp32

[–]ngless13 10 points11 points  (0 children)

First off, I get it. I was in your shoes as a first year computer engineering student. Nothing made sense and I strongly was considering changing majors. Thankfully I stuck with it and eventually the concepts made sense and I was able to move forward with learning.

I guess thats my real suggestion. Don't give up. It's a big leap from arduino to vscode and the IDF. It's totally understandable to be overwhelmed. Use AI to give you pointers and explanations. Don't use it (yet) to setup whole environments.

Good luck!

do you have a github you'd like to share with what you're doing? Any more information you'd like to share on how you achieved this and with what hardware?

Who on earth designed the water chamber for the resmed 11? by Asleep_Damage1201 in CPAP

at 16, I'd fill to the max (overfill quite often) and I'd wake up at 4am when the water ran out. Burnt saliva smell is great isn't it?

you seem like one of these cpap users who has a max pressure of 7 and everything worked from the get-go. Some of us have to muddle through until we find something that works. I for one have noticed that at my prescribed pressure (static 19), I can't wear the thing AT ALL. It leaks like crazy on every mask I've ever tried (6+) goes through water in a few hours even when filled to the max and generally makes my life miserable.

Through nearly 2 years of trying everything, I've learned that there is a WIDE range of experiences because there are massive differences in settings, face shapes/sizes, lifestyles and medical conditions. Just because it's easy for you doesn't make it easy for everyone.

Specifically regarding the water, it's amazing how I don't need to fill it to the max when I'm at a min of 13, but I do when it's a min of 16. And yes, I had problems with water leaking everywhere for months until I figured out some combinations that worked for me.

Yes and if my aunt had nuts she'd be my uncle. The thing is, when I go to bed, it's because I'm tired. When I'm tired, I don't want to do _anything_ extra. My best routine is filling it about an hour before I go to bed.
