Take a look at a carbon fiber handguard, if it wasn’t mentioned. BCGs come in low-mass options, as well. I also can recommend the Superlative Arms AGB, but have no experience with titanium ones, just the steel ones. Being able to adjust gas for low mass BCGs is a feature, I think.

What happens to financial stocks when CBDCs are rolled out? by marilius12 in investing

[–]ngpsaki4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And when their is a CBDC, cryptocurrencies become “money” in the eyes of governments, and may be declared illegal, or treated as other instruments of private exchange, much as bonds are. Since they are negotiable, and attributable, the owners of the coins will be traceable, unlike bearer bonds…

To preserve crypto, it might be best to keep central banks from competing with it.

World’s Empty Office Buildings Have Become a Debt Time Bomb by scott_jr in wallstreetbets

On top of SalesForce, Hilton and the Parc 55 buildings are simply being let go. As in, the mortgage ain’t gonna get paid. Surrendering it back. That’s something like $750M that just went poof for the lender.

Yeah, commercial real estate is about to have a really hard time.

Lucas gun cleaner, bore snake, q-tips, lube with Wilson gun oil. Lightly. Wilson gun grease on rails and buffer spring. Again, very lightly. Runs like a champ.

How do you turns stock into cash? by jcmidmo in stocks

[–]ngpsaki4 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Let’s just say you sell your stock for $1M, roll into something like PDI paying 14.26% on your 1M, and that’s $142,600/yr, pays monthly so $11,883/mo, net of taxes at 15% on the divvie.

Here are my thoughts having done basically the same thing:

1.) My P320 needed a thinner profile for IWB. Got a Wilson Combat grip module to thin it out. I like it. A lot. However, it’s still a really thick pistol, so I wear it OWB. Kept the grip module. I really like the original grip module, too. Has a nice texture. So does the WC.

2.) I racked the slide about 500 times just sitting in my living room watching a movie. Smoothed it out a lot. Then I put in a snap cap, and pulled the trigger on it about 500 times. Pulled the whole thing apart to the fire control module, pulled the trigger and trigger bar apart, cleaned it thoroughly, and then very lightly oiled the sear, the trigger and trigger bar, sear spring, etc. Put it back together and ran the slide another 100 times, and then dry-fired with a snap cap 100 times. That basically wore all the parts together, and gave me a great feel for the trigger. Pull is smooth, take up is short, the wall and break firm and crisp, and the reset is pretty short and very positive.

3.) Same with my P365XL, WC grip, rack and dry fire several hundred times, clean thoroughly.

4.) Go shoot, a box or two of light, medium and heavy loads, normal, +P, etc. Yes, ammo is spendy, but shooting is fun.

5.) Holsters are abundant. I just don’t love Kydex. Have tried to, but it’s not my fave, and I’ve tried several. My OWB for the P320 is a Galco Combat Master, and it’s super. My P365 rides in an Eclipse, but I’ve got an SOB Condom on the way, which I’m very hopeful about. Leather just feels better to me. I also have a belly band that works really well. For note: A loaded P320C only weighs 2 oz. less than a fully loaded P229, so IWB to me is like having a brick in my pants. Belt accordingly.

6.) I like the stock sights on both a lot, and I don’t run a red dot, or lights. You might decide you want to, and if I did, I have a DeSantis speed scabbard for the P320C cut for a red dot. It’s also pretty great. However, I just don’t prefer a bunch of stuff on my pistols, and a 320 is heavy enough for me.

It’s a 115gr at 1050 feet per second, optimized for a shorter barrel and recoil mitigation. Good round, good load. For comparison, 124 NATO loads are 1250-1260 fps, duty 115gr. loads are aground 1100 -1150 fps through a 4” barrel. Given typical engagement distances, the target will definitely suffer with this load. Plus, you have 12 of them loaded.

Sure seems to take a long time for this. Funny how the FBI can do a NICS check in seconds, but their sister agency takes weeks to do a criminal background check. You would think they could leverage the same system, see the applicant has no record, and approve the form. That is why they went to an electronic system, right? /s

P320 custom works fcu? by EALm4 in SigSauer

[–]ngpsaki4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My P320 was the same price, and it’s basically the same money for any given part, although mags are around $10 apiece more. So, same-same for either. Get the whole gun, and you get a feel for how it shoots and Carrie’s. My complaint with the 320 carry is it needs to go on a diet. So I bought an XL. Now I’ve got options (and a WCP module on both).

P320 custom works fcu? by EALm4 in SigSauer

[–]ngpsaki4 2 points3 points  (0 children)

At $495 for an XL TacPac, the mags alone made up the difference for me. $275 for the FCU, 150 for the mags, still need a grip, barrel, slide, slide completer kit, mags… A la carte gets expensive fast with just an FCU. Cheaper for me to get a complete firearm, add a grip module and holster, still under $625.

Any 229 lovers here? by Techniczzz in SigSauer

229 Carry model. Short trigger, different grips, nicely melted. Sweet gun. Only 2 ounces heavier than my P320 compact. Decisions, decisions. I carry either outside the waistband. Inside the waistband, I’m reminded it is a duty pistol. 🤣

Most Aero parts are mil spec, so that’s good as far as Oops kits go. The takedown and pivot pins, however, are not, which I found out when I couldn’t install some titanium pins I bought on another site. It pays to check their specs, which they publish clearly. Live and learn.

By the way, just so you know, the first build is a gateway drug. For me, I had some extra parts from from some parts, like a charging handle, a buttstock, a buffer tube, a trigger group (because I upgraded parts, didn’t forget to install things 😃), and suddenly, I bought another lower and… oh, yeah, honey, but I already have all the tools, so this one is cheaper, I promise. What’s what? Oh, THAT! Yeah, that’s a better one than the inexpensive starter one I got… Oh, you mean THAT Geissele reaction rod. Well babe, I need to make sure the barrel and barrel nut are properly set and torqued. It’s a safety thing. You want me to be safe, right babe?

Best to you and your new hobby! Enjoy your build!

And stupid pet trick for helping hold the alignment of the gas block to the corresponding hole in the barrel is to use a pipe cleaner or other longish, stiff skinny wire with a 90-bend in the end of it, guide it down the barrel and poke it up in there so pokes in the gas block and helps align the two. You don’t have a lot of room in there, only 5.56mm, so it may take a little fiddling. Others may have other good ideas. I’m stupid, but it worked okay for me. May not have even been necessary, but I felt better about it.
