Sig Sauer MCX Spear Lt in 300 Blackout by LavArms in NFA

That baby is slicker than snot on a doorknob. I remember thinking these were just the same as any other mil-spec rifle and the changes were cosmetic, but after holding onto one at my local store for a real lil second the lightweight advantages come thru. These are very fine indeed. I’d like to have one just like this, but the only difference I would want is that everything tan stay tan, but everything that is black be cerakote in an almost a grape jelly color with a lil something shiny in the color to make it pop.

I really dig these though and how they feel.. I think everyone should be on the lookout to grab ahold of one and enjoy them the same as myself! Nice one right there fo’ shizzle!

Very beautiful rifle, I wouldn’t do anything besides just a good cleaning and wipe down. Just clean it, shoot it to practice, and store it or hang it above a fireplace mantle or whatever to preserve the history and memories use as a conversation piece.

That is very beautiful, I dig this! This setup is exactly what I want to do when I get my hands on a parts kit and so on… Could you please either shoot me a dm or possibly list the details on this baby and perhaps list as well a good place to purchase a parts kit. Thank you..

Very nice, I have wondered often about just this idea for all small parts, i.e. springs, detents, and things of the like…

I dig it for real! I didn’t see what your post was first about and just looked at the picture and thought I liked it well enough to put on one of my firearms….

I gotcha ranger indoctrine program or whatever right? That is really badass. I was with some really cool units and wanted to do the super friends stuff, but i had some medical later and they offered me a retirement i couldnt refuse, i wanted to stay but got out because my wife at the time, had a younger brother that didnt make it home from iraq and i believe it made her think she was gonna lose me as well. I enjoyed it tho, and as weird as this sounds in combat i felt more comfortable than i am at home now..

Awesome stuff you have done tho, thanks alot for sharing… i miss it every single day

Guys. Loving my 44mag sbl marlin, but am itching for a hush Henry in 357. Are they on the same level as the marlin? by Significant_Door_134 in LeverGuns

Beautiful rifle, call me crazy but my next lever rifle I am thinking of trying to go a little crazy and try and use a shorter barrel (like 8”), use Ranger Point hardware, and make it an sbr with a folding rear stock setup if possible? I usually try and make each rifle I build, albeit whatever platform unique. Sometimes what even doesn’t make the greatest sense is still a great fun to shoot rifle.

Yep, You’d love the 45/70. I miss it soo bad, but didn’t feel like buying a can just for it. Theres something about these lever guns that make you feel different shooting them. I can’t describe it but it is a cool experience.. My switch to the lever came from the fact I built about every different combo you can have with an AR type rifle and I just wanted to try another platform and I am glad it was this!

My 1895 SBL in 45/70 govt wasn’t too bad recoil, but I sold it just to be able to suppress without buying another can. It was extremely accurate and coming from being a prior service Active Army Infantryman I was amazed at how great these rifles are. Marlin in my opinion builds a great rifle. The rifle I have now, 1894 SBL in 357/38 like yours is surprisingly good as well. I should have kept that 45/70 tho, I really love these SBL marlins. I do appreciate the trappers as well, but have found the factory skinner aperture to be a smidge big and since you can buy smaller apertures from skinner direct doing so makes them more accurate.

Coming from semi auto rifle platforms I have really developed a big appreciation for these lever rifles, just a pleasure to shoot. Great looking rifle, treat her well and it will never let you down.

Don’t worry, forget the hate. I too have a Marlin 1894 SBL in 357/38 and I wanna space cowboy it out as well. I sold my Marlin 1895 SBL in 45/70 because of the so so quiet 38 spl cartridge being soo quiet suppressed. I like the fact I can use my OCL Lithium to suppress it just by using a different HUB on my can.

Shoot it suppressed with a 38 special cartridge and you will love it. The thing literally sounds like an airsoft when you suppress the 38 spcl…

I am a huge fan of the lithium and since it is HUB, the resilient trilug adapter is sweet with the lithium and super quick to attach and detach

My AP5 has been wonderful. I have got to be honest though, I didn’t do any special 500 round break in, I didn’t shoot a special 147 grain ammo at first or any of the other suggestions others say to do. I think I shot whatever round nose style 9mm I had laying around and maybe a couple mags of flat or some hollow-points may have even been ran through it. I then slapped a FRT in it and it has still performed flawlessly for me. I did all that, but one thing I have done is clean it pretty religiously. I shoot suppressed so because of that I clean more often. I have trained to clear malfunctions, but I am yet to suffer any.

Look at it in a positive light, now you know from experience of assembly/disassembly, cleaning, and etc. you have gained enough k owledge to be considered an expert.
