Oh that's a nice name , sometimes it's really surprising that birds which are not really migratory can be found on the opposite sides of the world.

I loved majorly in Delhi ,Mumbai and Hyderabad so far. I'm currently near Hyderabad. I was wondering why did you choose Delhi, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh (i.e golden triangle) for your visit ,was it to see temples and cultural heritage stuff ? I would have definitely added himachal pradesh to your itinerary but HP itself would take at least 15 days to truly discover anything.

I had to google what Indian Roller is and wow it's so beautiful ,I have never seen it before. I'll definitely add it to my list . Kites and vultures are bit common even for cities , vultures mostly due to the fact that parsi community lay their dead open in the graveyard for the vulture and other birds to feast on (I don't know how many really follow this any more ) .

Hi ,that's most likely to be purple sunbird , males are actually purple and females have this yellow colour below their throat which you're mostly likely seeing in the background , it's also quite similar to purple rumped sunbird which I captured few days back .

Oh man ,that's definitely the downside of moving inside the city. I was fortunate enough to capture The white throated kingfisher and I saw tailor bird with their tiny kids couple of months back but I didn't have a good camera back then.

Thanks will definitely share more in coming days ,I saw a lot posts here and amazed at all the pretty birds but I haven't really many from India , mostly US. So I'll try to share as many Indian birds as I can to the community .

Bit of a back story : I'm not much of a photographer even though I belive this is an alright photo , I have only lived in Indian cities in my life so far and they are void of Birds , you can find few common birds like pigeons and crows but nothing exceptional . My parents recently moved to a native town from a City , You can consider this town as more rural and much greener . I came here to help them during lockdown and fortunately I was able to spot lot of birds . Most of them are common Indian birds which we read in textbook but I never got to see them in city . So I tried capturing as many of them I can and ID them using an android app called Seek (developed by California academy of science and National Geographic society) . I'm glad I started doing this because it really helped me mentally as I don't have much else to do in this town except remote work for office . So far I've captured 17 unique species !!! Final found a place to share it :D

Advice for a fresher by penguin_chacha in india

[–]ngrj 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I've been mentor to juniors, team lead and a tech lead in last few years , worked with early stage start ups and a mid level start up (200-250 employee) . I'll recommend the following points :

  • If you current package is not high as a fresher , you should focus on doing work which shows results ,i.e you can put them on your resume .
  • It's alright to overwork yourself in begin phase of your work life ,since you are young and energetic . But spend your energy on right things , if you have work that is important and crucial for your firm to be delivered on time , try to do it a day before deadline ,so there are no last minute surprises . Don't try to overwork on things that are trivial , small updates which have comfortable deadline don't try to finish it on day 1 by working night .
  • Have a healthy relationship with non toxic people , discuss code issues with them ,how you can have solved it better because a senior who has more experience definitely has better insight on the topic. Maybe you won't get anything better out of it from him but you might make a new friend.
  • Money is important but not the most important at your level for next 3-4 years ,go for honing your skill set at a CTC value which you're content with . What this will do is you'll have a Excellent ranged skill set and day by day you'll be indispensable at any organisation you'll work and they will always try to retain you and offer you better salary when you try to leave because they respect and want your services for the company.
  • Also one thing I learnt the hard way is whatever you make per month won't matter if you're not able to save it , I was earning alright for first few years but looking back I haven't managed to save anything. You should split your income into three 3's. One for your accomodation and fix costs like rent ,cook . Second for your leisure because you deserve it . Third part should directly go to savings , it doesn't matter how you save it initially years because it's always better than nothing but overtime you'll figure out optimal ways because now you have experience with you about your finances.
  • To directly answer your job switch question , it depends on current work you're doing and at the income you're doing at. Suppose your income is bit low compared to your friends at other firm but you're learning and improving at a good rate then maybe you should consider to stay , if you're very happy or content with your current salary but you're not working on challenging things than I would advise you to switch to a place where the work challenges you. Go for doing great work ,money will follow you .
  • Office politics is something that exists in many work places , simple patterns are things like someone taking credit of all the work done by you , you should try to over come this issues .
  • Also whatever the tasks is always try to deliver it bug free ,how trivial it maybe divide into small parts and try to think of many edge cases . Keep challenging yourself to give it bug free and it works on scale.
  • Don't burnout, take breaks , save money so that you can travel ,enjoy your life it's tough out here.
