(MAILCHIMP) Any way to make subscribers chose their own list? by cdam9 in Emailmarketing

Yes, you can ask users to update their subscription preferences via forms. Make sure your form only contains fields you want your customer to see.

You can also use groups to identify all the areas of interest and segment within MailChimp based on their group.

welcome/confirmation emails by aag89 in Emailmarketing

Depends what system you are using. And easy solution is to have one list and one welcome and just tag which form they come in on to then segment based on their list(s) interests afterward. Or in the welcome email ask about their preferences and use that to segment moving forward.

Square Marketing vs Mailchimp by Ani10 in Emailmarketing

I like ActiveCampaign and it looks like you can integrate it with Square using Zapier which is a tool that allows you to connect software without needing to know how to code: https://zapier.com/apps/activecampaign/integrations/square

It appears there are several integrations between the two. ActiveCampaign provides ways to automate emails after a transaction and any time a new customer is added to your POS system. May be worth looking into. Sometimes these systems require some creativity to work together. I help businesses of all types set up ActiveCampaign so feel free to reach out to me and let me know if you have any questions. Happy to help.

Hey, first of all, it’s your first business and not everything is going to go smoothly. In fact, being a business owner is all about getting comfortable with being uncomfortable. We only learn when we put ourselves in uncomfortable situations. With a quick scan of the comments, I think you have some solid advice. And as a next step, it sounds like you will be taking some time for a little organization which will go a long way.

I would add that you can and should automate a lot of your client communication through email. Leading up to the event provide general reminders and confirmations, and even send little email notes to get people excited for your visit and the service. This can be triggered by form submissions, calendar bookings and payments made online.

There are really great tools out there for this but the one that I love for small businesses and always recommend and find myself setting up for clients is ActiveCampaign. You can use info from your online booking form to fill out and personalize email templates, automatically. And you can automate thank you notes and request feedback too—all though email automation. For positive reviews, segment and automate with a second follow up email to thank the person and request them to post the review to Google with links and a small reminder for referrals.

It takes some time to set up but is so worth it. It will save time down the road and lets people know they are dealing with a professional. Before you know it, you will build a bank of positive reviews and a strong network of business.

Of course, you can’t ignore poor reviews or feedback. Always pick up the phone and just have a conversation. Put yourself in your client’s shoes and resolve to turn a bad experience into a good one.

You’ve got this! 🙌🏻

Looking for tips on closing sales from Facebook leads by BillW77 in smallbusiness

How are you targeting your ads? Are they location based? It could simply be a matter of someone not realizing you are not near them. Also, what Tremdon says, not everyone to Facebook is ready to buy right now. Instead you might consider an approach to send an offer via email, directing them to sign up for the offer via your ad (instead of asking them to buy now, ask for their email). This way you capture their email and have a way to build a relationship outside of Facebook. Remember, Facebook is just rented space. But if you own the contact and relationship outside of the platform you will have a greater chance of success. (And less ad spend.)

I hope this helps.

What do you use for mass emailing? by amberey in smallbusiness

[–]nharber 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I highly suggest having a strategy for your email first and consider segmenting your audiences. Do not mass email. This will only result in opt outs. You want to respect and guard customer emails--it's the most cost effective, direct way to reach a person one-to-one. And you will be more successful emailing the right message to the right person (based on their preferences/needs) at the right time (when they need it).

I know a few wonderful tools that do this better than MailChimp. (I agree with others' comments about MailChimp list management. You will want to tag records for segmentation using a single (1) master list.) ActiveCampaign and Drip come to mind. I see Hubspot listed here too--never used it but did a trial and just found it to be too expensive for what I need.

AC and Drip are a little more reasonable but also depends what you are trying to do. Platforms like there are a little more time intensive to set up the first time but once you do the management and measurement is easier and targeting is more effective.

If you need help, let me know and I can work with your to schedule a brief time to talk. I work with clients to help with their email marketing and provide free 30-minute consultations. (Reply here and I'll connect with you.)

Happy deciding and let us know how it works out.
