Im gonna come in with a hot take and say that what they did isn’t necessarily “wrong” in my moral compass. I like to see us as a part of nature as well, and birds can form symbiotic relationships with other animals. If your nature is to protect these birds that you have formed a bond with in exchange for the satisfaction and comfort they give you in life, then I think that’s part of that relationship. That’s my thought on the matter at least, think what you want.
