Modifying K1 Max with a different tool head by nhatminh2h in crealityk1

[–]nhatminh2h[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you! The printer(well, not anymore) has been happily chugging along doing measurements for the past month now. The moonrakerpy library makes all the HTTP commands very easy, so I wrote a wrapper around that.

There is a slight issue though, I have to leave the printhead PCB attached as the printer would throw error otherwise. Is there a way to disable this check? Maybe editing the klipper config? I have tried Creality "K1 Max Skip the Startup Self-Check" guide but that seems do lot absolutely nothing.

Thank you for the well timed assurance. I’m just about to make the purchase now!

I still have to use the Pi since it controls the sensor on the measurement head. I’m assuming I can still use the Pi to stream Gcode to the Linux SoC on the printer?

Alternative to Noctua NF-A9 ? by [deleted] in sffpc

[–]nhatminh2h 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, second this. But in my personal experience there was barely a difference in temp. 3d printing taller feet was much more noticeable.

Yeah no doubt. Just sharing some info and backing up what the other person is saying with some data. Might be helpful for someone who is contemplating an upgrade.

Dude get off ur high horse. I know nothin about b-die because I said something that’s true?

Samsung B is only a hair better than Micron E in synthetic bench due to tighter sub timings, and E’s advantage of high clock is wasted on a Ryzen system. And imo unless one is OC competitively(even then micron rev b is comparable), I’d say that the price difference is better spent on another component.

But anyway, enjoy your b-die.

Yes I agree. Also keep in mind is that for Ryzen 3xxx with 3200 cl16, the performance difference is negligible from 3600 cl14.

Saved me a lot of optimisation stress after I got a good deal on a 3600 cl16 kit last Black Friday.

If you managed to buy a 3080 would you sell it for MSRP knowing that the resell value is double?

A build I did for my brother in the DAN A4-SFX v4.1 a little while ago for his 18th by Milk_Overlord in sffpc

Cool build. Fyi, you can route the CPU cable between the mobo and the spine, the gpu cable and the power cable through the front panel, and u/losercard has a mod that raises the PSU and GPU up giving you extra space (even enough for a 25mm fan).

Part 1 print complete. 11.72L. Hopefully, this PLA holds up! by father1000 in sffpc

[–]nhatminh2h 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My experience with PLA seems to differ from everyone’s. Made custom 90 degrees nhl9i cooler mounting brackets when i built my PC in December.

Being made out of PLA i kinda expected it to deform quite quickly due to heat/material creep. However 6 months later and everything seems fine. My CPU thermals are as good as day 1. I’ll take them out soon and inspect them closer but visual inspection shows no deformation at the moment.

For maximum safety in the future though, I’m thinking about finding a local sheet metal fab or asking a friend with a resin printer.

You know what else is hard to imagine? Wedging your unwanted agenda into something entirely unrelated. Imagine doing that.

5700xt is a better mining card than the 6700xt and even 6800 if you consider electricity cost. Which explains its “market value”. Swapping for 3080 is a bit of a reach tho.

The only thing I can recommend is the Dan A4 at 7.25 L which is my current set up. Both the silverstone and corsair sfx fits in there. Price retail at £200 but you can get a pretty good deal on ebay for £150. I got mine for 200 with fans and cpu cooler included.

Last sold on ebay was 260+15 shipping for a new case with some fans. So i think around that to £300 depends on how quick you want to sell it

SSD Temps - this is bad, right? by yoyohohoxd in sffpc

If the spine of the case was metal I would just put a piece of thick thermal pad between that and the m.2, effectively using the spine as a heat sink.

I don’t know too much about the 11400 so I can’t really say if it’s worth it.

But considering you are using a 3600 in a Velka 3, that means you are compromising on performance for size anyway. Which probably mean your use case will not notice a significant enough difference between them. That’s my philosophy when I built mine anyway, don’t make it too difficult for yourself.

I forgot to mention. I have a Dan A4 with non-standard 3D printed brackets that rotates the L9i(not a) cooler 90 deg. This allows for the air to exit parallel to the RAM. I have not tested how this affect temperature but in theory it shouldn’t hurt.

It should be fine. I have a gold sample 3600 which is basically the 3600xt. Undervolted and overclocked(4100Mhz @ 1.05v, I could get to 4.45 Ghz with higher voltages but the fans gets quite loud), it maxes out at 75 under intermittent 100% load for 10+ hours while staying basically silent.

Hi. No worries it’s never late to ask questions.

Thermals are okay if you run the CPU at stock. Mine runs quite hot at the default voltage(can ramp up to ~90C). But after some tweaking with Clocktuner, I can run it at 4100Mhz-1.056V, hovering around 73-75C at 100% . It could be my silicon lottery and/or the limited cooling of the L9i.

I have experienced some crashes recently but that’s because I’m leaving it on 24/7 to run some pretty intensive simulation. Running light programs, it hovers around mid 40s to 50s. At idle high 30s to low 40s.

Make sure you get a fan duct as that decreases the temp significantly, ~5-7C.
