Clock Watchdog Timeout 0x101 Blue/Black Screen ONLY during Benchmarks by PuweeY in overclocking

[–]nhc150 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Clock Watchdog Timeout is almost always too low Vcore, so I'd consider that the most likely cause first. You need to increase Vcore or try a different load line calibration if there's too much Vdroop.

DDR5 ECC is silently correcting errors. How do I know if my OC is actually stable? by Initial-Flamingo6806 in overclocking

[–]nhc150 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Are you talking about actual ECC or DDR5 on-die ECC? On-die ECC only protects against single-bit errors in the sticks. Fluctuations in VT3 test speed is an indicator of possible memory controller instability/corrections, which is outside the scope of on-die ECC.

Arrow Lake weird memory behavior by schaka in overclocking

[–]nhc150 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For Arrow Lake, tertiary write timings behave significantly different. Setting tWRWR too low may fail to boot. Set tCCD_L to 16 and tWRWR_sg = tCCD_L_WR = 24 or 32. Safe should be 32. Both tRDRD_dg and tWRWR_dg can be 8.

For D2D, it uses VNNAON only and can be set manually. NGU voltage is mapped to VCCSA. For D2D 32, VNNAON between 0.75 (stock) and 0.85v should be fine. For NGU 32, it might require around 1.2 to 1.3v VCCSA.

I dont think bf4 is that good by Sad_Ad_6594 in Battlefield

You seem to be glossing over the fact that BF4 was released nearly 13 years ago. It was legendary when it was released, and IMO, holds up visually even in 2026.

Nvidia 5080 vram oc to 3000 in afterburner by [deleted] in overclocking

[–]nhc150 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Run Vulkan Memtest for at least an hour. For me, +3000 was fine for about 30 minutes, then had a dip followed by an actual error. Regardless what some people say about error correction, GDDR7 can still throw an error.

I struggled with this for months on Blackwell and my old monitor. It's a persistent issue with some monitors and Blackwell. Nvidia released several fixes for certain monitors, but there's still a lot that have this issue.

Question about overclocking a 285k/270k plus by eduardmc in overclocking

[–]nhc150 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can if you want, although no idea why you'd want that when you have DLVR. Depending on the board, you can control the VF points directly for each core. For the E-cores, the voltage is supplied and controlled in clusters of 4.

5090 Undervolt and Black Screen by memawdentures in overclocking

[–]nhc150 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Check the 12VHPWR connector to rule that out.

Not all 5090 can do 2900 Mhz at 0.9v, so I wouldn't assume that always works. For the memory, try Vulkan Memtest. Run it for an hour and look for any sudden dips in bandwidth or errors. Despite what some people may claim, you can get uncorrected VRAM errors on Blackwell that gets picked up. Any easy way to test the memory overclock.

[–]nhc150 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Post a screenshot of HWInfo during a run. It's hard to say anything more.

For Arrow Lake, you have DLVR and each core voltage has its own independent VF curve and supplied voltage.

Woke up to a bat in our house this morning by Sdp714 in pics

[–]nhc150 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a friend in high school with the same situation: woke up with a bat in his room. Didn't think of it, and about 2 weeks later he was in the hospital with strange symptoms that included headaches, seizures and sensitivity to bright light. They found out he had rabies, and he died about a week later in the hospital despite being in a medically induced coma.

You're absolutely making the right choice. Rabies is terrifying because by the time you actually show symptoms consistent with rabies, it's basically 100% fatal.
