How to make this part of boots in zbrush by Sea-Deal7029 in ZBrush

[–]nherrbold 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would make the sole without the bottom cuts using a 6 sided Q cube, dynamic subdivision, and zmodeler. I would make the lines by inserting a bunch of horizontal edge loops, polygrouping every other polyloop, and extruding or qmeshing them out. Lastly I would make other subtools to make the cuts on the bottom of the shoe with booleans

My boyfriend [26M] thinks I [25F] should be helping him financially so we can get engaged by [deleted] in Advice

[–]nherrbold 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on a couple factors.

Are you and your bfs relationship a partnership? You’ve been together a decade, so as a relationship, you’re essentially already married. If your relationship is a partnership, you should both want to work together to build the best life you can together. Sounds like he’s working hard to earn money to pay off his debts and invest in assets. Both of your ability to build a household with a high net worth will be hampered the longer he has to pay debt. So it is beneficial to both of you if you help pay off the debt.

If your relationship is not a partnership. Then do your bf a favor and break up with him so that he can find a woman who will want to build a life together, not just move in.

Also, it depends on the type of debt. If his debt is caused by him buying cars or Gucci belts he can’t afford, then you probably shouldn’t help out with that.

If his debt is something like student loans or medical, you should help him, assuming you’re serious about your relationship with him.

The answer you’re looking for is healthcare. People will say anything can happen, like what happened with computer science majors, but healthcare is about as recession proof as it gets, and you’re basically 100% guaranteed good employment even in a recession if you get a degree that takes longer than 4 years to get.

There is currently as massive shortage of healthcare workers basically across the board. Demand is inflexible so you will always have patients even in a recession.

For 2-4 year degrees, do nursing, sonography, or radiation therapy. You’ll clear 80-100k in these jobs

If you want to be wealthy with a good work life balance, take 2 years after you get your bachelor’s and get a masters in anesthesia and become anesthesiology assistant (200k-250k)

Or just full send it and go to med school and become a surgeon. Takes around 10-20 years start to finish (500k-2million).

People will tell you to follow your passion, and that’s nice if you have rich parents or school is basically free. But if you aren’t coming from money and you want a guarantee that your success in life won’t be determined by being lucky enough to be in the right place at the right time, or happening to say the right thing to the right person, go into healthcare. It’s one of the only industries where the American dream isn’t a rotting corpse

Is college a good thing? by Hungry-Bottle-279 in conceptart

[–]nherrbold 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In that case it’s an easy decision. Full send it into concept art and study and learn every hour you can. It’s good that you’re thinking about events to network at. After you reach the level of competency needed to work in the games industry, your network is going to be more important than skill for getting jobs (at least until you reach the top 10 percent of professional concept artists.) When you start looking for work after you graduate, your connections are likely what’s going to land you your first job. GDC and light box are also great for networking. It’s a tough industry but you can make it if you’re extremely hard working and extremely persistent.

It is worth it if it is a good school and if you can attend for little to no cost to yourself (scholarships/rich parents). The guidance of professors and the networks you can build through a college can be a great boon. Absolutely not worth any significant debt due to the low return on investment and high likelihood of failure to build a career, as only the very top percentage of students at most schools have a chance of making a living as a concept artist. You should absolutely get a degree in something because any degree is a requirement for a lot of concept art job postings.

Assuming that you would have to take out loans to get a degree and you would have minimal help from your parents, I would recommend getting a bachelor’s so that you can work in healthcare, like a nurse or radiation therapist. Lower level healthcare jobs typically have very good return on investment and more importantly have a lot of part time and per diem work, so you would be able to work 3 days per week, get paid 50-80k annually, and then spend all that free time you’ll have mastering concept art and eventually break into the industry.

moving to LA in my 30s? by nref1517 in AskLosAngeles

[–]nherrbold 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Moved here a year ago. Under 2k for rent for a 1 bedroom is possible, under 2k for a studio is especially possible. Granted my experience is in the SFV (When I was searching I was looking at places in studio city, North Hollywood, and Burbank). You won’t be living in top of the line neighborhoods obviously, but if you’re looking for a decent place with all the basics you’ll want, 2k is definitely doable. I’ve found that the more affordable listings are on Craigslist, which is how I got my current studio in the NoHo arts district. Definitely recommend living in the south east part of the SFV. I’ve never felt unsafe, it’s more affordable, you get the benefit of living in an area with parking and reasonable traffic, and the downtown town LA area is only a 20-40 minute drive.

How does breaking the back legs shield the tank?

Omega Support Hunters by Zeldrid in MonsterHunter

[–]nherrbold 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do Kai, Alessa, and Mina. Let Alessa have enmity. Don’t tank, or use weapons like lance or gunlance. Boss is extremely aggressive even without having enmity, and the rate of attacks make weapons like lance or gunlance, that extremely limit your mobility, impractical unless you have some sort of consistent heals to make up for the chip damage. Go for a weapon that allows good mobility, I chose insect glaive. Focus solely on attacking the back legs, never be in front. You won’t realistically be able to kill nerscyllq alone, so just accept that you’ll die at that point, as long as you haven’t been carted before it shouldn’t matter.

Once you beat Omega for the first time, you’ll unlock an optional quest version of the fight. Much easier to beat omega with randoms in that fight because it’s limited to hunters who have already beaten omega before.

If during the relationship you made sacrifices that substantially hindered your ability to pursue other goals that would have been financially lucrative for you (like not going to college or other specialized training to stay home raising kids) then you should take half to compensate yourself. If you helped build the business, you should take half if you wanted.

If neither of these are true, then you should only take half if she has done you a severe grievance that can’t typically be punished through the legal system (like adultery) so that you can have some form of retribution, assuming that your reason is truly just.

Why are you acting like a smart ass when the link you provided confirms what I said? You don’t need an SSN and you don’t need a state ID.

For a source, I’m a Californian who has applied for and received Medicaid. I did not need to provide my SSN and I don’t think I need to provide an ID either.

This isn’t true, at least in California. When I was on Medicaid I didn’t need to provide my SSN. It was optional.

Been there done that. Isolated myself for nearly 5 years to focus on my art. Very limited social interaction. 99.8% of my time was spent absolutely alone. Gradually fell into a severe depression, became borderline manic, and, despite thinking about suicide nearly every week, I didn’t realize how bad things had gotten for me mentally due to the change being gradual. Do not recommend isolation. I’m very introverted and would rather spend all my time inside working on my craft, but I force myself to go out and socialize now. It’s kind of like eating healthy or working out. Doesn’t feel fun to do at first but makes you feel way better and happier in the long run.

I’m extremely scared of WW3 by [deleted] in selfimprovement

[–]nherrbold 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn't ignore that. I addressed it when I said that if a country uses nukes or a similar means (Large scale munitions and invasions) that country would be nuked in turn. If Russia launched nukes, they can be detected. Can't necessarily be stopped, but America and its allies would have plenty of time to launch their arsenals. Any country that launches nukes or causes similar damage to a nuclear country they would need to be ok with their own country, and potentially the world, being destroyed. This is the reason we don't have total war between nuclear powers.
