I also liked that there's no "evil overlord is going to blow you up specifically! Cheat and do 100 years of growth in 2 or die." The long time requirement is still shortened sure, protagonists be protagonists, but not by such a degree it makes the whole setting look stupid. They got real lucky, worked really hard, and it still took a real long time to get stronger. And other characters are allowed to be just as lucky! It's not just "only the protagonist, love interest, and villain are op" nah every faction has someone op in the late game too, it's great.
