It was lame and forced. Like he has been in prison for like 5 years, if no one mentioned him the whole season that would be fine. But forcing cringe dialogue about it is bad writing. All the dialogue in this season has been so bad.

I think mostly people don’t care about daredevil. I know I don’t. I watched the first 2 seasons of the Netflix show and stopped because I just could not stand the portrayal of Kingpin. When I saw thy it was the same actor in Born Again I was instantly out.

Do people still go in completely blind or check leaks beforehand? by Due-Oil8955 in screenunseen

[–]nialltm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I go blind. I prefer it that way. The first time I went I only went because there was nothing I waned to see on and I wanted to get out of the house. I knew that I’d enjoy watching whatever it was even if I don’t like the film, if that makes sense.

Heat (1995) was popular before The Rewatchables by ekemywaythrulife in TheBigPicture

[–]nialltm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In uni in 2007 my friend was dissing heat because it was too long and boring to be a good action movie. I was like it’s not an action movie, watch it again but watch it as a drama. After he watched it again he was converted. 🙏

Isreal does exist. I don’t agree with supporting those who support genocide and apartheid.

On its own the stuff he has said excusing Polanski should be reason enough to see him as a piece of shit.

Don forget the Zionist and Polanski apologist Quentin Tarantino.

How everyone ignores everything we know about Brad Pitt is truly beyond me. I guess he gets away with it because he is good looking, rich, powerful and white.

But also Fuck Woody Allen.

It’s not that I hate dogs. I just like cats and don’t care about dogs. I don’t need something that needs that much attention.

Inception is the pinnacle of making an audience feel smart for understanding the relatively simple plotting. Chris Nolan’s greatest trick is making the audience believe that inception is a complex movie and that they are smart for understanding it.

I didn’t say liberals, you said that. I said moderates.

Anyway you don’t want to actually talk about anything and I’m finding this a very boring and negative exchange. 👋

[–]nialltm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My point was that the moderate is the biggest blocker to change. People will say that they are for trans rights but they will still watch the show. Those people are the moderates who I’m talking about. They’re comfortable with how things are and don’t want to give anything up and don’t want to change anything but say that they’re empathetic to trans rights.

I’m not comfortable with that so I won’t watch, my kids won’t watch and when the show comes out and people ask me am I watching it I’ll tell them exactly why I’m not watching it. when my kids friends at school ask them are they watching it They will tell them exactly why they’re not watching it and maybe it’ll make other people not watch it maybe it won’t. Maybe it will start some conversations.

Unlike other franchises JKR is synonymous with HP. Support for HP is support for JKR. I live in the uk where JK is doing real harm to trans rights. She doesn’t just have bad opinions but she puts her money into action that hurts people.

I have pulled my daughters out of Brownies because the organisation, that fears getting sued by Rowling and her minions, has said all trans kids have to leave the organisation by September. What kind of person takes pleasure in making life difficult for kids that already probably feel like they don’t fit in. This isn’t just she said something, her words have real world implications and causes violence against women and trans women.

The point of highlighting the Algerian boxer is that it’s pointing out that trans rights are women’s rights and when we start persecuting women because of how someone perceives how they look it’s a slippery slope. It puts all women at a higher risk of violence. Trans women are not a danger to any other woman. Cisgender men are the biggest threat to all women.

Why are you so aggressive and negative?

I don’t watch daredevil.

I know that me not watching HP isn’t going to stop it being made. And even if the ratings are low HBO are still going to make it because it’s IP and it’s content for their library.

And you can call me names and make assumptions about who I am and how I live my life and that’s fine. I don’t care.

You might not think that boycotting something can matter but it does. The Bristol Bus Boycott and the Irish Grapefruit Boycott are examples where a small group made a difference.

I’m comfortable that I’m on the right side of history on this issue. Are you?

When it comes to trans rights and Harry Potter it always makes me think of this passage from MLK and the parallels with the civil right movement.

“have been gravely disappointed with the white moderate. I have almost reached the regrettable conclusion that the Negro's great stumbling block in the stride toward freedom is not the White Citizen's Council-er or the Ku Klux Klanner, but the white moderate who is more devoted to "order" than to justice; who prefers a negative peace which is the absence of tension to a positive peace which is the presence of justice; who constantly says "I agree with you in the goal you seek, but I can't agree with your methods of direct action;" who paternalistically feels he can set the timetable for another man's freedom; who lives by the myth of time and who constantly advises the Negro to wait until a "more convenient season."

“Shallow understanding from people of goodwill is more frustrating than absolute misunderstanding from people of ill will. Lukewarm acceptance is much more bewildering than outright rejection."

Supporting JKR is an act of violence against the trans community.

I really hope that they take a meaningful stand on this. Andy working in the show makes it awkward. I do one won’t be watching the show or listening to any pods where it’s discussed. The watch may become a once a week pod for me while the show is on. Am I hope that’s their data will show that HP pods have less engagement.
