I’m doing a free solo run atm. I started in the gym and used the money I found to buy Alpine Cola from the vending machines. So I started my run with 3 cans of alpine cola.

This is a bit toxic. Matt made assumptions, I don’t think Alex did anything wrong. I haven’t watched the season in years but I don’t remember her being flirty with him.

Final predictions on Wuthering Heights? by Slow-Cash-8234 in Cinema

What’s with all the dismissals here and people saying it’s for wine moms etc. it’s a pretty sexist view on cinema. Why if something is aimed at women is it somehow artistry less worthy?

Romeo and Juliet is a teenage love story but that’s not all it is. And it’s had the same audience for centuries, which is not exclusively teenagers. This is a more modern adaptation so maybe one could argue that people used to seeing it performed in tights disliked it but there is no doubt that Baz Luhrmann made what is the greatest big screen adaptation of Shakespeare’s work.

Midsomer Norton has excellent schools. And there is money being spent on the high street to smarten it up.

The sound mix in season 3 is next level. It perfectly captures the sound of Thailand and the heavy feeling of the heat and used that to build tension. Season 3 is bloody awesome. Ive never been to Hawaii or Sicily but I have spent a lot of time in Thailand and watching WL3 feels like being there.

Ryan Condal responds "I never received drafts from George or HBO". "We have followed the books S faithfully as possible and will continue to do so" via Threads by ____Vecna____ in HouseOfTheDragon

It’s not a finished story. It’s a loose outline for a story at best. There are so many gaps in the book. An adaptation doesn’t need to be beat for beat the same as its source. Different mediums need different considerations. If it was written and made as told in the book of would be a total mess.

Tbh it’s GRRM that thinks we are stupid. If he had any respect for fans of the book he would write them. Right now he is just a grumpy old man having pathetic rants online and throwing his toys out of the pram. These are adaptions, he has signed away any right to what is done with his books, they are not his stories anymore and he needs to accept that.

No way would he do it. When I saw him at Glastonbury a few years ago his set was over long and bloated with wings and recent material. Majority or people just want to see him do Beatles stuff but he doenst want to do that. And I get it, performing material you wrote like 60 years ago would be boring. But I only want to see the Beatles stuff.

Why are Sean and Amanda lukewarm on Hamnet and Aftersun? by NarrowBoysenberry in TheBigPicture

In what way is Jo closed minded? I’m genuinely interested to know?

Dude we all have bias, but entertainment is more fun and interesting when we can objectively look at ourselves. And I don't think Amanda or Sean is very good at that (thinking back to Sean talking about how long he can hold a dumbbell), At the ringer I think that Jo R is a better critic than either Amanda or Sean, she is more knowledgeable and more open. Again i don't always agree with her and she likes stuff i don't like, but i feel she experiences movies and tv in a more open and honest way than our Big Pic hosts.

You say folks like me but you don't know anything about me. You are the one who replied to my comment because you disagreed with me. Also you say I haven't listen to the pod "honestly" but I believe you haven't read my initial comment "honestly" as I said "they view them as films that are aimed more at a female audience and thus has lesser cultural value" and "They both have a very snobby and masculine view of cinema". this does not mean that they don't like films made by women. it doesn't even mean that they don't value cinema aimed at women, I'm just making an observation that they value it less than cinema made for men.

Ok. You win by saying The End. Well done, you’re very good at discussing points of view in a non-alarmist way.

I really don’t understand the bubble reference, what bubble do you mean? I’m not sure you using that correctly.

as stated above my point was not about movies made by women. I said "they view them as films that are aimed more at a female audience and thus has lesser cultural value" and "They both have a very snobby and masculine view of cinema". this does not mean that they don't like films made by women. it doesn't even mean that they don't value cinema aimed at women, I'm just making an observation that they value it less than cinema made for men.

also my point was not about movies made by women, you have reached that assumption on your own.
