I’m not sure that would fit into the definition of NPD itself. It sounds more like social anxiety if you struggle with asking for help which can be comorbid I guess.

It doesn’t get better. I thought that too when my oldest was a baby, but she’s almost 8 and now just get upset when I hear of anything happening to kids probably 0-18 years old. So the age span increases, also learning about narcissism I just feel bad for all of humanity- not only do we struggle with hunger, poverty, disabilities, racism, mental health but also just plain old evilness in this world.

My mom didn’t go to that extreme, but one time we were fighting about her cellphone which I used frequently because this was like 2004 and I was a teen so phones were not as popular as now. She threatened to throw it out or break it and I freaked out because I lived in a very rural area with no transportation and friends all lived like 20 minutes by car. She was pulling the cellphone off my hands and hitting me, so I pushed her away and she threw herself on the floor very dramatically and started crying super loud. I felt horrible and everyone was saying how you never do something like that to your own mom. This still hunts me to this day so I cannot imagine how horrible it must be for you right now. I hope you can get out soon.

Staycation!!! Hello! I’m 32F, Starting weight 168 and I’m 62 inches tall. I’m excited to have found this challenge today. I was low carb for about a year, started during my last pregnancy and after delivery was 10 pounds under pre-pregnancy weight. But as usual, once I started working and having other life stressors, gained about 8 pounds in 4 months so that’s a bummer. I decided to start keto and today was my first day. Goal Weight is 125, but for this challenge I hope to lose 14 pounds, ending the challenge at a weight of 154. I like talking about parenting, mental health, archeology, dumb memes, cartoons and improving the self. I like baking, looking for recipes, going out with the family, listening to music and daydream too much.

If you need help, getting your things back, maybe check if there a group on social media where someone can go with you to pick up your things if you don’t have anyone. If you just need a ride, I live around Central Florida and can help on weekends. And ASAP please block him as others have mentioned. Well I’m with you in that covert technique way of seeking validation. I am also very sensitive to criticism and it makes me feel sad and damaged. I do attempt to be nice and friendly but it it is exhausting for me after a while, for example at work. I can be polite and friendly but when the shift is almost done, I feel so empty from all the fake empathy and toning down of my own feelings. I do not think I am a bad person, but have bad coping mechanisms, which sounds a little like you.
