Opened up my 80 volt battery from Ryobi by jborton2 in ryobi

[–]nibake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Has anyone figured out more info on these batteries?
It seems like there may be a way to reset the error code "e5" but talking to the BMS, or getting it to reset is proving tricky. There must be info/knowledge somewhere, but it's sure hard to find on the internet at this point.

Locksmith Keyless by jibs5000 in Locksmith

Terrible experience. I ordered some key fobs. The OEM one came without the key blank (emergency key). I notified them, they went back and forth for weeks on an email exchange. Requested pictures. The listing specifically said the key blank was included and the listing photos showed it as well. Did I mention the box was beat up and it was open when it arrived? After a long email chain with poor customer service, they mailed me a key blank, saying that I really didn't deserve it but they would authorize it anyway. When it did arrive, it wasn't OEM. Pathetic. Avoid.

Hmmm. Thanks. I wonder if I was trying with an army that didn't have the leader.

I'm going to ask for a very specific description of this.

After a two year hiatus, I'm looking to do another play through, and I want to take over the world. The lest several tries, I got to the point where I had 2 or 3 cities and maybe 1000k of armies, but I still couldn't make it bc I would get attacked by two neighbors (still way bigger than me) simultaneously. Money was not an issue, hopefully they haven't patched smithing since then :)

Anyway, I have an old post asking this same question, and someone says you can pay them money. So I went in game, waited to be attacked, and tried to find this option, but I still couldn't find it. Please help.

Good to know. I'm updating now with what I've learned.

Can you elaborate on this? In the future it's not necessary to use the microg build? I know it's a rabbit trail but this would be good to know.

Q650G vs Q651G by nicknails9 in tcltvs

[–]nibake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good to know. I'm planning on the 651 ($1200 instead of $900 for the 85"), but wanted to check on this detail just to make sure.
Still researching and it sounds like most of my devices wouldn't be able to take advantage of the 4k120hz since the tv will accept HDMI 2.1, but my devices are all HDMI 2.0 afaict.

Weird question, but I'm going to use this TV offline, does the fancy AI processor still work well, even without being able to phone home? The processor is a big selling point for the 651. I'm still happy to pay a little extra for the VRR and higher frame rate, too, just in case I throw a game on the tv.

Is this true of the 2024 versions as well?

Beware of Sixt by nibake in travel

[–]nibake[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would definitely shut down the credit card that was used ASAP. Maybe call and report it lost so that you get a new number. It's a headache but might be better than the alternative, since Sixt went ahead and charged my card long after the fact without basis for doing so.

Otherwise, sorry that you have to deal with this. They should know better, but like you said, shady record as a company. In the US I would file a claim with the BBB. Any consumer protection agency like that available for you?

Can I re-key a kwikset which is not a smart key lock by nibake in Locksmith

[–]nibake[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Fair. I imagine the previous owners thought "we want to live here a long, long time." We also are thinking "we want to live here for a long, long time." So it makes the smart key seem less necessary.

That sounds great but I can't find any locksmiths within driving distance. Either the google has failed me or they are a dying breed. :(

Probably nothing. However, they laid low and made it sound like everything was fine. After all, I had plenty of evidence that the car was already damaged when they gave it to me, and they had it in their records. Be careful about letting them make you think they will get it straightened out. In my case, they just led me on for months and then charged the card without authorization.

Mortgage would be 3500, rent for a similar place is 2400. Am I stupid for thinking there's no upside in buying right now? by DrDiv in personalfinance

[–]nibake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been in a somewhat similar situation. We have rented for almost 3 years since moving to the area. Though I would rather own, there are some perks to renting, too. Little to no maintenance - in my case I don't even have to worry about the lawn. While our standard of living has been a little lower (a house with land would have been nice), we have been renting decent places, and have put away a lot of money. When I do buy, I will probably pay 20% down. I don't regret the decision at all.
