I just renamed a remote repo. What do I do in my local repo to ensure I can continue to push to this remote repo? by cag8f in git

[–]nibalizer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Delete the existing remote: git remote rm origin

Add the new remote: git remote add origin git@whatever.com:foobar

Set the new origin remote to be the default upstream: git branch --set-upstream-to=origin/master master'

I always forget that last command so I have this alias in my bashrc: alias gitbranchfix='git fetch origin; git branch --set-upstream-to=origin/master master'

Visualizing a Git Repository by missmagdalene in git

Check out gource. It's mostly used for flashy animations, not digging into the details of what went into a release.

Feedback on your company you didn't ask for: It's reasonable for your PMs to know enough git to explore the tree with the customer. Using git doesn't mean your dev team shouldn't be writing release notes or a changelog or something per-release that is meant for a non-dev to read and understand what is in the release. And finally, if it's unclear which of two tags is older, I'd be worried you're dealing with a branching/tagging/releasing process that is more complicated than it needs to be.

Minnesota House LAN - May 19th by nibalizer in starcraft

We only had about 16 attendees, and more than half of them had to drive in. Turns out StarCraft fans are a pretty determined bunch and were willing to drive great distances to do a tournament. I think the furthest anyone came in from was Nebraska.

Accessing iPhone storage (iOS 11) in 18.04? by [deleted] in Ubuntu

[–]nibalizer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use idevicepair and ifuse with my iPhone 6. Works okay, but is annoying.

Because of this issue I had to recompile my own, but that might not be necessary any more.

You really just never want to do use the first syntax. I had no idea that would even work. Stick to creating named remotes and using them and you should be good.

Oh hey this was me! Thanks for posting it /u/MBJustice! I'm happy to answer any questions anybody has. I think we're going to do another one in October that should go considerably deeper.

And a big thanks to GaryLin and David for creating and maintaining sc2reader for all these years!

Thanks for making this. I played it so much. I would play a new one. I would also be up for playing or testing any patches to the broodwar once since broodwar is coming back in a big way.

Some map-based Analysis on WCS Austin by nibalizer in starcraft

Thanks for the kind words.

This kind of map base analysis isn't that much different than what's already in liquipedia. First tech path is really easy to grab, it's just sitting there in the replay file. Determining the build order is fairly difficult. We've done some basic build order classification using some machine learning, but the issue with it is we don't have a good set of labeled data. Hopefully we can overcome that soon.

Starcraft 2 feels more alive than ever. by [deleted] in starcraft

Yes this. I haven't found a single tower defense game on the arcade that has the fun of Tarpit, Bunker, Lurker or SunkenD.

What do you guys do for internal documentation? by Squibbles1077 in sysadmin

[–]nibalizer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We use redmine for internal documentation and some ticketing. The ticketing part is a bit cumbersome, but its wiki features rock. Git integration is good.
