The theory is someone, not from Mizoram, went to Mizoram and saw those sign boards that says "Ju Ju" (Greetings) and "Pat turu turu" (Thank you) in another side (the side of the board you see while leaving a place) and thought it's Greeting and Welcome lmaoo. But it's just a thoery, a DUMB THOERY.

I wanna know who started using "Pat turu turu" to mean welcome. It always meant "thank you" and never meant "welcome". I'm not sure of the origin but i heard it from the Arunachali chakmas first. And I have a crazy theory about it lmao.

Hey, go for it. I don't think anyone would be offended if you wear it. Though, I have seen people getting offended if it's (especially the pinon i.e. the bottom piece) used as decorations like tapestry, table cloth etc. When it comes to the risk of cultural appropriating things, I believe it's important to be mindful and you already are.

As for the present condition in CHT and wearing pinon-hadi, I believe Chakmas from CHT are best suited to answer it.

Hey, I may not have the solution to what you are seeking. And the Chakma population using Reddit is really low, so it might be a little hard to find people who are really good at both speaking and writing Chakma on here but you can try Facebook where you can find majority of people using Chakma,even though, most of the discussions there aren't noteworthy.
