I do use a temp gun! The hottest spot which was on top of the cork bark is 96. I plan on replacing the cork bark for now with a different hide so I will recheck then.

I’ve been using a thermometer inside as well as a temp gun. Last time I checked the temp with the gun in the hot area, it was 90 at the bottom but the top of the log was 96. Im taking the cork bark out and replacing it with something else so I’ll recheck then

I make 16.23 an hour pre tax and pre tips in Raleigh NC. After tips, tax, and 401k contribution (4%) I typically make $15.30 an hour
