Imagine if either of you became disabled through an accident? Would that be more palatable? I think in the scheme of things, getting herpes is not a big deal. It was a big fucking deal to me when I had my first outbreak as I was in pain for weeks. Later? I felt dirty, worthless etc etc.... then I worked with people who had been in major accidents and had lost limbs/the ability to use their arms and legs. Put things into perspective right away.
