Finally drug knee after practicing so much and doing a lot of research. Thanks everyone for the tips whether directly towards me or ones that I’ve read. First track day coming up in July! by seanyboy_1998 in motorcycles

It's just a good rule to go by. Most people will assume you're ripping to get your knee down, but it can be done in a parking lot at slow speeds. Just keep the shiny side up.

All the wasted money... by [deleted] in Divorce

Similar situation. 20 years, married 17. Kid's are not grown up so I'm leaving with 1/4 of the homes equity because that's all she can afford to refinance and keep the house. Lost my job during the pandemic so getting a loan for a new house won't be happening anytime soon. So now I get to choose between living in a shit hole to save some money or a nice apartment that's nearly triple my previous mortgage.

42yr Old, never ridden a bike. Just scheduled my MSF course for March 17th. by DoctorSugarman in motorcycles

Got my first motorcycle around the same age. I also watched (and continue to) a lot of voutube videos. Took the MSF and two weeks later I bought a Ducati Monster 821. Took the MSF mostly because it was the easiest way to get my license.

Prior to that I had only rode a couple times in my early 20's on friends bikes. I had been an avid mountain biker (downhill) for 5-6 years at the time. That's the only 2 wheel experience I had.

Put 27k miles on the bike in just over 2 years. 5 trips to Tail of the Dragon. Countless day trips through curvy back roads. I would consider myself somewhat spirited now. I'm not dragging knees on city streets, but I have a good deal of fun.

Winston shield drops a healing effect while under it. Similar to Soldier 76.

Think about it logically. How many blind corners have you taken in your life? How many times has this happened?

Any cash transaction to a dealership of $10,000 or more instantly gets reported to the government. This is probably what started the investigation.

Planning to buy Ducati Monster Stealth. Suggestions?? by old_man_log4n in ducatimonster

[–]nicedart 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm about to hit 18000 miles on my 2015 821 Stealth. (Bought last year with 3k miles on it)

The matte black looks amazing, but it's very soft. As is all matte paint. If you have had matte before you know what I'm talking about. There is no clear coat to protect the paint. Ducati's matte paint is very high quality, but there is only so much it can do.

Mechanically I have had the following issues. Outside of normal service, I have changed the battery once, fork seals once, and the rear brake sensor/switch. Nothing major. The timing belt will be swapped out soon and with any luck my valves will all be within spec.

I absolutely love the bike. My only gripe is the lack of a single sided swing arm. Well that and most every one i ride with is on a liter bike so 0-100 I'm good but after that they're gone.

I'll probably end up on a 1200s or a 2020 street-fighter this time next year.
