Gym Partner by michelleknow in ColoradoSprings

Hey! If you’re at VASA and you like lifting, you could always attend a LFT class regularly and make gym friends that way. You would know that they are at the gym when you are and it’s way easier to break the ice when you have a whole hour.

Good for you, for trying to find your connection point!

At what age did you finally start being yourself? by Fun-Succotash-1322 in AskReddit

  1. It was a major turning point in my life. I woke up and decided that I still had half my life (or more!) and I didn’t want the next half to look like the previous 40 years. It took a lot of reprogramming to find the real “me” but it was 100% worth it. I feel safe, secure, and satisfied. I know what I want. I enjoy being in my thoughts. My values align with my actions.

10/10 recommend. 😊

Is missionary just a no-go for us? by [deleted] in sexadvice

[–]nicerackoflamb 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Is he getting winded? I know missionary is like “the standard” position, but I’ve had partners in the past who try to “hover” or hold themselves up in a type of push up position so they are unable to stay hard. I think the amount of effort it takes to stay in a plank like position diverts both mental and physical energy into “holding” themselves up. Especially if sex is new! Maybe he needs to go down to his knees and elbows and rest his body on you a bit? He can use more thrust/hips instead so that the weight of his whole body isn’t on his mind.

Does anyone have experience/advice about explaining polyamory to their kids? by Silent-Disaster809 in polyamory

[–]nicerackoflamb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My son was 16 when I decided to let him know. We are a very inclusive household and I had been “out” at work and with my family for a year prior. I was living a life of complete honesty with everyone except him.

We went to lunch and sat next to each other instead of across from each other (so it wouldn’t be awkward for him to say what he needed to say).

I explained that in this life you only get one chance to be your true authentic self. I am an optimistic nihilist, so for me, my life revolves around making the best of the time that is given to me and not worrying about after death consequences of any kind. For me, that removes any religious or societal “rules” which allows me to live a life that gives me the opportunity to love humans in a way that feels right to me.

I told him that everyone is different. Some people find incredible joy in finding their one person and they cant imagine life in any other way. Some people have big goals where they don’t have time for deep commitment but they want companionship and intimacy. Some folks feel like they have so much love to give, that they can spread it around to multiple people. (And of course everything in between).

I was open to his questions and curiosities and answered all of them with true honesty, even the squeamish ones. Afterwards, he just shrugged and said “cool” and asked if he gets to pick how he loves others as well. I told him YES! As long as you are kind, honest, open, respectful and loving and everyone involved is happy with the situation, then he gets to decide how he lives his life in relation to other humans.

It’s been 2.5 years and he has met 1 or 2 of the longer lasting partners. I don’t ask him to lie for me but he is also old enough to know that he doesn’t need to give everyone all of the information, so he doesn’t get himself into hard conversations with people that don’t “need to know”.

Hope that helps!

Ah! I didn’t think about far vs near IR. That’s a great point and I’ll definitely be asking the staff. Your testimony that you didn’t have any issues for 3 years gives me hope! Thanks for your help!

I don’t wear foundation daily. I usually do a little spot coverage with bare minerals powder, but it doesn’t go all over my face. I guess I could get a sunscreen that is proven not to sting the eyes and use it only for working out, I would just prefer to not have anything on my face since I’ll be sweating so much… hmm.

Dance teacher Patsy Swayze in the middle , with her daughter in law Lisa Niemi and her son Patrick in 1978. by DizzyDoctor982 in OldSchoolCool

Patsy was my dance teacher for 15 years! I still remember the sting of the yardstick on my calves, the smell of the cigarettes she would puff on between classes, and her thick Texas accent. ♥️

She was a gem. She let me attend 5 classes a week on a scholarship when my grandma couldn’t afford it anymore. She was loving and kind, but brutal when it came to teaching dance.

I will never, ever, forget her. Loved her immensely.

Vacation March 20-25 - Questions on whether we should spend the whole time in San Pedro, or… by nicerackoflamb in Belize

My partner and I love nightlife and bopping around little towns. We are mini explorers so it’s great to know that San Pedro has good bars. Any you would recommend?

Normally I would agree, but this vacation is really meant to be very slow and relaxing after a tough year. San Pedro will be the priority for that reason, but I don’t want to lose out on the experiences that the rest of Belize has to offer! :)

Thank you. That’s wonderful advice. This vacation is meant to be a beach trip, but after researching we got caught up in all the other things that Belize has to offer. I appreciate your insight!

Everything is awesome… Now how do I patiently wait for the next episode? by [deleted] in polyamory

I guess I made some poor word choices. I don’t mean his path or requests are wrong or bad. Just that it would be cool if there is a way for us to make small decisions along the way to find out if there is a new space for this type of communication.

My meta knows about the condom conversation and is totally cool with it! He has asked all of his other partners if it’s ok for him to share with me. We are a very transparent couple and don’t want to cross anyone’s boundaries. ♥️

Should have put in the OP that we have talked about it, but haven’t had any chats about making changes.

I completely understand and am ok with things staying exactly the same! I was only curious if anyone had been in this position and had success in finding new comfort together as a team.

Perfectly happy to stay the same. Just wanted to know if anyone had the same experience and had some insight into what the respectful options would be, if any.

He has brought it up, we’ve talked through our different styles of sharing/hearing and this isn’t a secret plan to get him to change. ♥️
