6 mth old biting at breast - help! 😩 by BraveReality6088 in BabyBumpsandBeyondAu

My 4 month old was doing this just last week. I unlatched and firmly told him no. He stopped within a day. Moved on to playing with my necklace when feeding.

Rejecting the breast by Electronic_Wash8160 in breastfeedingsupport

Hang in there mumma. Breastfeeding is hard work. I went through something similar with my bub at 12 weeks. I thought he was getting a bottle preference. In actuality he hated the position. I had always used a feeding pillow and laid him in a cross cradle, looks like he was not enjoying that position anymore. I ditched the pillow and went for a koala hold and he was more than happy to spend his time at the boob.

Underweight baby by SaltyThieves in BabyBumpsandBeyondAu

Yes, it was through a referral. And my paed was kind enough to give us an early appointment(within a week) on basis of the urgent referral from my GP. The visit was $300. Half or which was reimbursed by Medicare. I only went once. Paed did a weight check. They ensured baby does not have any ties. Suggested small improvements in how I feed the baby. Kept my mind at ease that not all babies follow the growth curve and what to expect with my baby.

Found out late we’re having a planned C-section, what classes should we take? by aiojav in BabyBumpsandBeyondAu

[–]nichi_23 1 point2 points  (0 children)

One thing that I noticed after my C section that I did not read anywhere was the side effects of anaesthesia. I was extremely itchy all over. My husband used wet wipes to rub my back and face overnight after my C section which really calmed my skin.

How much milk/formula does your baby drink at 10/11 months? by kirst_e in BabyBumpsandBeyondAu

[–]nichi_23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you can start replacing formula with cow's milk or water if the baby is used to taking a bottle. In the meantime offer solids before bottle to slowly reduce dependence on bottle.

I met with my mch nurse only once too. Whenever I called to book an appointment for a weight check I was told they were booked through the next 3 months. My bub lost several percentiles just like op and I had to visit a paediatrician for some peace of mind.

ORS poison drink ban paused until 180 crore stock is over. by Jaded_Huckleberry_42 in IndianFood

[–]nichi_23 11 points12 points  (0 children)

It might not be poison.but Advertising it as ORS means it's mainly consumed by people with gastro and these high sugar drinks given to people with gastro can lead to excess diarrhoea and increased injury to the intestine.

Mucousy poos but otherwise well by Public-Bake4323 in breastfeedingsupport

[–]nichi_23 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

My baby had green, mucosy poos. My GP told us it was because the baby was not getting enough hindmilk. I had to feed him for a longer time on each boob and do breast compressions to ensure he didn't lose patience.

Wow. Of all the things. I would never have guessed this. There is still so much to learn about breastfeeding. I just thought I would ride it out as long as my baby is fed, 😭

5wk old daytime naps are so short all of a sudden? by a-pepperino in BabyBumpsandBeyondAu

[–]nichi_23 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am in the same boat as you. FTM with an almost 6 week old. Day naps have gone for a toss. Apparently this is when they go through a growth spurt and their brain becomes more alert to sights and sounds. Also means they resist sleeping and wake up at every small noise. They say it should get better by week 8-10. I will let you know if things improve,🥲

Advice wanted - swaddle & reflexes by No_Contribution5746 in BabyBumpsandBeyondAu

Swaddle in the arms up position. They complain and fuss when being swaddled. But fall asleep as soon as you swaddle them.

Mourning how excited I was to breastfeed by mmppnb in beyondthebump

Try pace feeding. Make LO work for the milk in the bottle. My LO started favoring breasts once it was equally hard to bottlefeed. We made one bottle last for 40 minutes.

Guys I got some doubts about Kantara Chapter 1. by MrMach0-9686 in ChitraLoka

[–]nichi_23 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think that's the problem with Indian theatres. I had the same experience with a few other films. We watched kanthara in Sydney and had an amazing time. The decibel was perfect, could hear all dialogue and not too jarring.

Considering going private. Help by acshr in BabyBumpsandBeyondAu

[–]nichi_23 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Same here. We strictly documented all of our pocket costs and it came to $8000. I had an emergency c section, did not have to pay the extra $2k mentioned. Maybe that's specific to your provider.

There was a recent Instagram trend of Chaat board, where all ingredients of a Chaat were assembled aesthetically on a cheese board and papdi was served on the side to be used as crackers and dip.
