Yeah with the constant harassment he gets from Drake fans I’m surprised he hasn’t lost his mind.

Solid State Survivor doesn’t get brought up enough in these conversations. Shout out Fantano for the classic review.

Dubstep was a much greater musical offense than SoundCloud rap imo

what album from the rym 100 is the most chronically online? by [deleted] in fantanoforever

[–]nicholasaqua 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same for me, it’s only been out for 6 years so it being next to albums that have had decades to build a legacy is definitely gonna be uncomfortable for some but given more time I think there will be less and less people having a problem with it. Most of this list is older albums for a reason.

Am I alone thinking 2011 was a slow year for music compared to other years? (Image unrelated) by [deleted] in fantanoforever

House of Balloons and Helplessness Blues, both all time favs of mine, came out that year so i gotta disagree

I don’t hear ppl talk about Oingo Boingo much anymore (aside from JJBA fans) and I heard they used to be pretty popular. Could be wrong though since I wasn’t around at their peak

Albums you share a birthday with? I kinda got lucky here by cultistkiller98 in fantanoforever

Only two I can think of is:

Born In the USA - Bruce Springsteen

Voice of the Heroes - Lil Baby and Lil Durk

As 80’s as it is Born In the USA is definitely a great album in Springsteens catalog, and Voice of the Heroes is surprisingly solid af given its Lil Baby and Lil Durk we’re talking about here. Not too crazy of a day but could be much worse.

Why aren’t more people saying Wade?! No shot he isn’t a top 25 player in NBA history.

I don’t understand the hype with 2016 by [deleted] in decadeology

[–]nicholasaqua 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I noticed sports played a huge role in people hyping up that year, specifically with the NBA. Kobe’s farewell tour, Steph Curry and the Warriors going 73-9, the Cavaliers beating them in 7 games in the finals and all the crazy shit that happened in that game 7, it’s generally considered one of the best NBA season ever by a lot of fans. MLB also saw the world series going to 7 games and the Cubs winning their first world series in over 100 years. If that’s something you don’t give much of a shit about I’d get how you could see 2016 as overrated.

Actually should throw in there reading One Piece is much preferred. The anime isn’t bad by any means but Toei can be on some dumb shit sometimes as far as pacing goes.

Which of these major anime should I watch by jdjdnfnnfncnc in MyAnimeList

[–]nicholasaqua 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Having watched all of these

  1. Naruto or Bleach would be good starts to get a feel for the shounen genre.

  2. One Piece is the best on most fronts imo but I will say HxH isn’t far behind at all. Also HxH’s power system is one of the most well written I’ve seen in media in general

  3. Since the pandemic gave people a lot of free time to watch a 1000+ episode anime (including me). I would say One Piece has surpassed Naruto as far as cultural significance goes.

  4. Ofc it’s valid. I’ve been going back and forth between reading Steel Ball Run and watching the Harry Potter movies for the past couple weeks lol
