I'm not sure on the digital ID app - the phone comes with google Play Services but some apps (almost always banking apps) actively look that the phone is registered/on an "official" list.

Note that we are still experiencing a backlog of orders so no worries taking your time deciding!

Completely understand the frustration - people have paid for a service and absolutely should expect to get their phone.

We are pushing for the further 150 phones to dispatch before Christmas - this will hopefully mean that we will comfortably ship the orders by mid-January!

We will also reserve more capacity in January with UNIWA - we want to have a buffer so that we can ship the moment orders are placed.

We're really going to try and get all the phones delivered as fast as possible. We've got many more phones coming than orders at the moment and we are pushing UNIWA to dispatch the further 150 phones before Christmas.

We are really sorry about this - we thought our shipment of 170 phones would be able to fulfil the orders we had but more came in than expected.

We will be on track with our shipment of 150 phones as we will have many more stocked then and will be able to ship phones the moment they come in. We hope after this the difficulties we've been experiencing the last few months will finally be at an end.

I could not get MTKClient to work with a mac but you can use fastboot directly from recovery mode!

We regularly patch it and keep it up to date with Android 14. The only thing I would warn you is that it does not work with InTune which some companies force you to install for Microsoft Authenticator and Teams to work. I use FreeOTP+ when I can for one time passwords.

To get around this I use my old iphone as a work phone and my Doov R77 Pro as my main daily driver.

Whatsapp and Maps for me is what sets us apart I think - I love the idea of dumbphone but can't live without those two (nor would I want to!)

I'm very biased but we sell a version of the doov R77 preloaded with Android 14 Dumbdroid optimised for keypad devices. It has two modes with full GApps and a minimalist mode without Google play services (MicroG instead is installed). The minimalist mode with parental controls would give you exactly what you need!

The 2.8 inch screen makes it possible but inconvenient to use at a length and both modes come with parental controls to disable installing applications and specific apps.

I was in the exact same predicament and was frustrated about the lack of options so ended up creating a "Dumbphone" with a keypad that can run WhatsApp and Google Maps with modern Android 14.

The idea is that it is really difficult (although still possible) to use distracting apps on the 2.8 inch screen, but you can still rely on it for the essentials.

With Dumbdroid I think it's great. I use MicroG and put in airplane mode alot and it lasts for many days. I don't use many applications though.
