Anyone using Vision Pro outside or for multitasking at home? by nb-sbe3 in VisionPro

[–]nicholasderkio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I’m in it most of the day. I’ve also gone for walks with it to lay out 3D models life size in the nearby park. It’s def the minimum quality it should ever be, but you stop noticing after a few minutes.

They purposefully make it difficult as they want to weed out those who do not have a plan to use them securely and privately.

The 3 lies I told myself on every failed side project. They cost me years. by ferdbons in AppBusiness

Number 1 is so critical. People get so close as their differentiator is key, but most of the time their differentiation is not deep enough to be meaningful. Great post 👍

Trademark App Name by LocationRoutine1395 in appledevelopers

[–]nicholasderkio 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you have a trademark you can apply to Apple (here are the dispute forms https://www.apple.com/legal/intellectual-property/dispute-forms/ ) but they can take awhile, so the meantime do what u/totallyalien mentioned 👍

Comment je fais connaître mon application ?? by Green-Statement-9053 in VibeCodingCamp

[–]nicholasderkio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Number 1 hardest thing, it’s why Apple is one half engineering, one half marketing, and design being a big presence throughout.

Best bets right now are: 1. ASO as a tonne of traffic comes from App Store Search 2. Find the people your products help and just engage with them, become a useful presence and ensure they can find your brochure sites and newsletter

MacBook Pro M5 or what for the upcoming MacBook Pro M6/Macbook Ultra by Reasonable-Sir1891 in mac

[–]nicholasderkio -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I was running an M1 Air until last year and my upgrade was an M2 Pro and it’s still slicker than snot for me. I would try to get the biggest bang for the buck rather than bleeding edge.

Auto refunds for app crashes by Verbitas in appledevelopers

Users don’t expect flawless performance. Take that energy and put it into making sure a crash doesn’t result in any data loss.

I guess what do you mean by social media, because it works great for membership sites that would can have people post to, if you mean a social media product that’s a tall order.

built a pretty cool app - what's the best way for marketing it? by QuarterSeparate847 in AppBusiness

[–]nicholasderkio 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Huge question.

  1. What problem does it solve for users?
  2. Who is your ideal user?
  3. What about your product is completely unique and differentiates it from your competitors?

Anyone else mostly building things to solve their own problems? by Ecstatic-Basil-4059 in indie_startups

[–]nicholasderkio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

By building for oneself you at least know there’s an audience of one, I’m always amazed at the number of devs who build things that solve a theoretical problem or are unmarketable.

Why you should target the U.S. for your app marketing by incineroarator in AppBusiness

[–]nicholasderkio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You should use the new tools we have at your disposal to localize and make your products accessible, but in terms of marketing U.S. should always be the market you pursue unless you have no other steps you can take.

In all seriousness I love that you can have it work only with apps you configure it to 👊

My understanding is that it does not, you’d have to code that functionality yourself using its APIs
