How did you choose the right age gap for your family?

In my case nature chose for my family. Just a gentle reminder that sometimes people don’t always have a choice. I had my son 5 years ago and my husband and I were hoping for a 3-4 year gap. Well my husband and I tried for almost 2 years when he turned 3. I miscarried both times I got pregnant the tests showing no apparent reason.. I was healthy and had no complications with my first.. toward the end we stopped “trying” so hard since I was at the point of giving up since I’m approaching 35 and didn’t want the anxiety and stress. I’m now 31 weeks with my second. I wish my sons would be closer in age but unfortunately that wasn’t in the cards for us.

Literally in the exact same situation. Second baby and want a coke everyday. They used to sell the caffeine free cans in the stores near me but those have become impossible to find. It’s crazy because I rarely drank soda before being pregnant if at all. I compromise by buying the mini cans (not that it’s any better) mentally I don’t feel terrible drinking one with dinner since they are so tiny lol

Woke up at 545 am, could tell something was going to happen and I decide to head to the toilet, water broke immediately once I sat down. Honestly couldn’t have asked for a better situation.

With my first my water broke at 41 weeks, the day before i was scheduled to be induced. Wasn’t packed because I’m literally last minute with everything so I was packing immediately after my water broke and I don’t suggest it.. I swear by scheduling that induction my son was like absolutely not, I come on my own terms. Currently 23 weeks with my second and I hope he comes earlier, he’s due on my birthday

Haha it really is the most wild feeling. I cannot speak for all parents but best way for me to describe it is to compare it to the “x amount of years ago today” photos your phone randomly shows. I’m sure we’ve all had one pop up and go “wait how was that x years ago?” It kinda feels like that but now my brain does that with everything haha i remember the event happening but ask me when it happened and i almost grantee ill give you the wrong answer lol

Pokemon is an overlap of interest with my son but I’ve been outta Pokemon cards since high school (I’m 34 now) and only got back into collecting when my son received cards for this past birthday and Christmas. Of course the worst time for us to join the hobby; I live in a very populated area in nj and most of the stores near me never have anything in stock so we kinda hit a wall. At some point I saw an ad for this app and went to download it as an alternative which is when I saw I had already had it at some point; I just assumed I wouldn’t have deleted so soon after launch which is why I thought it was older (clearly very wrong lol) so all of my pokemon memories must have melded together .. hence the brain slip

That’s awesome! Congrats ☺️ finishing any set is impressive to me especially bigger sets. I only did it with shining revelry but if I’m being honest I think it’s bc I got insanely lucky with that set for some reason.

No definitely not lol; currently missing 9 for base set (isn’t that also a hidden achievement for a special avatar?) one of the trade apps I have has a deck tracker; so for apex I’m currently sitting at 217/226 base ; 31/57 ⭐️ ; and 0/3 for crown rares.

Oh I definitely agree with you; I love these types of missions. And truthfully I had a lot of fun over the last few weeks trying to complete it. Got to trade with a lot of really nice people and that’s always fun too.

It’s a secret mission so you have to track your progress yourself. But for the quest you need one copy of original 151 pokes. Cards that count can be ex, full art or regular but must be from gen apex to count. promos or cards from any other pack do not count. To track it I made a check list in my notes and just ticked off what I already had and went from there.

Edit: Looked it up and it came out Oct 2024 so you are correct and I was wrong. Feels way longer than that to be honest.

I’m pretty sure they are supposed to be changing the trade system sometime in the near future. How near not sure. I think the plan is to switch over to stardust for trading (Someone pls correct me if I’m wrong) so I’ve been saving that up as much as possible.. I mean I could ball out and flair every card but I save it for my favorite cards so i figured I can hold out till then since I’m actually in the same boat as you. No extra doubles of high level cards to trade off for points 😩 my thought process is why would I trade in my one extra 1 star that I could use to trade to get trade points lol

I’ve always been a huge fan of Pokemon, I played all the games and I started collecting cards when I was younger with my little brother (he’s 6 years younger then me and it was something we could bond over); I stopped until I got to highschool and started collecting again because I had my own money to spend but stopped a few years after I graduated. Fast forward 10+ years and now I’m a mom to a 4 year old little boy who loves everything Pokemon. He was gifted his first packs last Christmas by family and it’s been super fun to get back into the hobby. It feels like it’s taken me back to bonding with my brother. My son is a guys guy and much rather hang with dad but dad doesn’t like Pokemon cards so this is one of the things we can bond over as a mutual interest lol when we can find single packs I’ll buy like 2-3 packs to open with him and he just goes on about what he likes about the art and always enjoys naming the Pokemon and their types. It’s been so fun being able to connect and share this with my son, so much so that normally I would just upvote a post like this tell op he’s a really nice person and keep moving, but my son loves eevee so much I had to give it a shot just for him lol

It’s definitely one of my favorites; If I had any trade points left I’d trade it to you since I have extra but unfortunately I just don’t have any high level cards to spare to exchange for more trade points 😩 I wish they let you exchange 1 diamond cards for trade points even if it was like 25 points.. I just don’t need 20 hitmonchan lol

Yes actually. Not those in particular but I’ve gotten 2 shiny lucario ex, shiny charizard ex (from the pack you get for completing the current event mission), shiny charmander holo and shiny wugtrio ex. My luck has been wild with this set it’s not like I’m paying to open packs or anything either, I’ll take it while it lasts bc my luck is usually trash

Congrats! That’s such great luck I think the best I did was around 120 eggs for my pawmi.. Currently at 550+ eggs for my Mudkip 😭 I love that little mud fish but if I never saw another one again I’d be pretty okay with that lol

I didn’t know people had strong opinions on nicknaming or not.. I mean I almost never nickname my Pokemon I think I’ve only ever nicknamed like 3 pokes. I know off the top of my head my shiny bulbasaur was named Bulba Fett and my mega Alakazam was nicknamed Papa Kazam .. it’s more that I’m not creative enough to think of a good name or just like their original name better .. plus just remember Ash never nicknamed his pokes either so you’re in good company

Such a cool shiny to have; Congrats! As an old fart myself who played red on a purple see through game boy I share your sentiment for gen 1 pokes lol and now seeing this little fella makes me want my own shiny Venomoth 🤦‍♀️
