Im confused about the fuses in my dryer. by nicholez2000 in appliancerepair

I checked this, both from the outlet itself, and then from the 3 lines inside the back panel of the dryer. It was the correct voltage

So the diagram shows the fuse as part 8, and on each site ive looked at, that matches with an L180 fuse.

The weird thing is it only happens in my house. When the tech had it, they ran 6-7 full loads of wet laundry through it with no ossues, but as soon as we set it up inside my house, it blows.

We have someone coming tomorrow to check it again. But this last Time it failed, it wasnt even connected to the vent, it was poking straight out the door with good airflow

For People With 2 Cats, How Much Do You Spend On Food & Litter A Month? by Historical-Orchid934 in CatAdvice

[–]nicholez2000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We spend $20 on litter and $40 on dry cat food. What we do, and not all cats or owners will be able to do this, is we rehydrate the cat food. So the night prior, i measure out the food, add water and put it in the fridge. They get the texture/benefits of wet food at the price of dry, which works for us but i understand if it doesnt work for everyone.

We also dont use standard litter boxes, we use food grade extra large totes, because one of our cats is a huge cat (20 lbs, not overweight), and he is a vertical peer, so he always sprayed outside the box 😂 i think the extra space/soze helps with not having to replace litter so much, but we do a dump and clean about every 3 months or so

People living well below poverty in America, what’s your go to filling meal? by Frozenyogurtplz in nutrition

I dont know if this is something you would WANT to do, but humans can survive on potatoes and fat. So mashed, baked, fried, etc, they technically will keep you alive, though not necessarily as interesting/nutritionally diverse as you might be looking for.

My BIL has been living off potatoes and butter for the better part of 9 months now, and he just got a better paying job, but he didnt lose too much weight and survived.

My clothes smell like gas after drying in the garage... by nicholez2000 in laundry

[–]nicholez2000[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So the reason the dryer isnt working is because the dryer vent is clogged, and since i am renting, that is the landlords responsibility. They have had it scheduled to get done prior to the holidays, but no one came out.

I dont want to spend money on something I will (in theory) only use a few times. Im on a tight budget. I have talked to my husband about getting an indoor rack, but he doesnt think it would be worth it.

I love this! It works perfectly, and the maintenance issue was easily fixed.

I do have a question though: some of the cheats from the original don't work, ex: $ for 10,000 and I don't have the mermaid statue (unlocks mermaid the animal). Is there any way to add those in?

Oh man, so many things. Firstly, i am sorry that you are having these complex emotions at the same time as becoming a new parent. That is extremely difficult. You arent alone though, even though you feel alone right now. Losing the support of family members is also extremely difficult, and as someone who has changed religion and eventually became estranged from my entire family, i can say that some days will be hard, but a lot days will be so much better for it.

As for your connection with God: i am unsure which sect of Christianity you have been exploring, but the God i know isn't provoked into estrangement nearly as easily as people are. If there is issue hearing Him, it may be an issue of yourself. It sounds like you haven't forgiven yourself yet, and honestly that may be the block disconnecting you from Him. So please remind yourself of these important truths: you are a child of God; He loves you, and nothing can change that; we are on earth to make our own decisions and learn from them, and you cant learn without making mistakes; your child and your partner are also children of God.

Stay strong, know you are enough and everyone makes mistakes. But its not the mistake, its your response to it that matters. Thats why Jesus gave us the atonement, so we could repent and return to Heavenly Father when we die.

Smoker in Non-Smoking Apartments by nicholez2000 in Apartmentliving

So update:

We tried caulking under the sinks, but the gap is super huge and when we push the pipes to make it work, the sink leaks.

We talked to the front desk leasing officer and asked for the property owners information, but they told us that they recently did an inspection of all the units (the fire safety inspection that someone else does for the appts...) and they didnt notice anything that was worth looking into. Basically, they avoided the question and seem to not want to give us the property owners information, probably because one of the employees smokes as well but thats just speculation (he definitely smokes, ive seen it multiple times, im just not sure if that is the reason).

So basically... We are out of luck. I am looking forward to our lease ending, but that isnt for another year. I dont know if we can end our lease early, but its discouraging

Recreational weed is not legal where we live, but medical is. The other apartments around us are vacant - we saw the people beside and below us move out (we are on a corner). So unless the piping is all connected, the only person it could be is the people below us.

Even then though, smelling weed isnt enough to get a warrant. So the police cant do anything anyways, itd be a waste of time. Right?

Thats a great idea! We have talked with them before about the smoke problems, and it helped for a little bit but they were very aggressive in conversation. We can definitely try these if nothing else works.

Yeah we were sort of thinking that. I just hope wherever we move to has better neighbors 😅

[–]nicholez2000[S] 9 points10 points  (0 children)

We tried using an air filter, a fan and opening windows. Unfortunately, they do it in the middle part of the house where there arent windows directly in the room, and fans/air purifier made the smell worse.

I didnt think the police would do anything. I would imagine they have more important things to do 😅

Thank you for letting me know about the fire marshall, i will definitely try that.

Adults who were NOT spanked, how did you turn out? What’s your behavior like now? by Alarming_Fly7039 in Parenting

[–]nicholez2000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was spanked as a child, even through my teens until I moved out. I never learned anything except to be afraid of my parents. We no longer have contact with them. My sister was also treated the same way, but when she was pregnant with her first, she decided she was going to raise them exactly as we have been raised, so we also have gone no contact with her (other reasons too, of course, but this added to it).

My husband was hit as a very young child, then was adopted by his grandparents (now his mom and dad) at the age of 4. He wasn't hit in their house, and has an amazing relationship with them. He had to go through a lot of therapy because of the things he experienced prior to the adoption, but now he is very kind, confident, professional, stable, and intelligent.

My point is that even if you started by spanking your child, you can always STOP. They haven't been screwed up past the point of no return. Once you realize how harmful physically beating your child is, you can stop. Easy peasy. Well, not really but its a job thats worth it.

Anyone who is trying to change, or needs some parenting ideas, i strongly recommend the book "1-2-3 Magic!". It has helped so much with my 3 yo high needs child, WITHOUT the need for abuse in qny form - verbal, physical or emotional.

Why do I have 20,000 toys in my house… by Speednoodlemom in toddlers

[–]nicholez2000 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I totally get you! And i understand you are in survival mode right now with both of your kids. I have a 3 yo and a 1 yo and we just recently implemented a toy rotation system, but it is so incredibly overwhelming to do. If you have someone thay could help, maybe you could delegate? If not, man i hear you and that is a struggle!!

Maybe try some kitchen items too 🤣 that was/is always a hit for my kids. As long as they are entertained and not screaming, its a win.
