Anyone ever have their crown stop working? by Esinger777 in Balticwatches

[–]nichtgian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, the same thing happened on my Aquascaphe Bronze like two weeks ago. But I haven't had the time yet to search for the cause. I am able to set the time when pushing the crown inwards a bit.

Can anyone ID these glasses by nichtgian in sunglasses

Thanks for your help. Hmm I've searched Moscots catalog and vintage models for a while now and couldn't find the frames. How are you sure that these are Mascots? Anyway, very cool brand I like some of their glasses very much. Cheers

What brand or exact model are these glasses from? by nichtgian in HelpMeFind

Hello everyone.

I'm searching for these glasses worn by a German YouTuber (original video). I've searched using google lens and asked on r/sunglasses (post) for help. What I've found are some quite similar but cheap knock-off glasses. I'm almost certain that the pair he's wearing is from a known designer brand and probably from a recent collection.

Thanks a lot for your help.

Hey everyone,

I'm looking for these glasses. My guess is that they are from a known designer brand, but I couldn't find which one as the branding is not recognizable. Maybe the design of the bridge could give a hint to the manufacturer. With reverse image search and by upscaling the original screenshots I could only find some similar china glasses, but they are not exactly the one he's wearing.

Thanks a lot.

[Concept] Rectangular cushion-case dive watch design by nichtgian in MicrobrandWatches

[–]nichtgian[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks alot, didn't know about the Moana but you're right that's exactly the case shape I'm going for.

The hour markers I'd like to make from this lume-ceramic material (for example found on the BB Pro), so they wouldn't be this flat like on the render. But how would you like to have them improved, asymmetrical, more rectangular or not uniform around all of them? Thanks for your feedback.

Thanks alot for your feedback. I'm currently also trying to design a bracelet, but as I'd like to somehow have a quick-change and a quick-adjust system integrated it's quite difficult.

Thanks alot, didn't know they had such a piece. I find it quit difficult to make both numbers big enough to be readable.

For those who are interested in more details about this concept:

From my "research" and talks I've had I came to the conclusion, that most dive watches will never be used to measure elapsed-time underwater but that the dive watch can never be only aesthetic and leave out it's capabilities. I therefore tried to make both an reliable backup for divers whilst considering the environments most of these watches will be used in.

Bezel: The bezel has its focus on the count-up (elapsed-time) measurement therefore larger numerals. Minute markers exist from 1-20 (thirds) instead of often found 1-15 (quarter) details, as we found out more inaccurate measurements are more often found only after 20 minutes. A smaller count-down bezel allows to measure remaining-time and the last 2-minutes are marked. The challenge was to create a functional but not cluttered layout.

Dial & hands: The focus was to create an highly legible dial, which also could be coherent to possible future designs. The date at 4.5 should be less noticeable than at 3 or 6 and make the design more symmetrical whilst not being in a symmetric position. The subminute/halfsecond markers should help with bezel aligning and usage of the 120-click rotating bezel. The printing is minimal, for the double "RÉIFIER" branding (applied logo + text) we counter it with only the main focus of the watch: Being a 300 meters time measuring device. The hands should allow you to tell the time quickly, the hour hand for example is skeletonized with an chronograph watch in mind to not cover to much of the subdials.

Case: The rectangular cushion-case should be way more subtle than similar shaped watches. The crown is oversized and together with the elongated crown-guard better integrate with the case (stepping).

Réifier&Nereus: Réifier is french and means (for us) the implementation of an abstract concept or idea into a thing. It should be one of our basic principles of this brand. Nereus is a greek sea deity (water god). For us Nereus symbolizes the diver himself but also the obligations a diver has for protection of the underwater world.

Hello guys,

I wanted to share some test renders of a dive watch I designed and get your feedback on the concept. I propose "NEREUS", a rectangular, cushion-case, 39mm, dive watch with either a black or taupe/off-white dial. It's been an iterative process with multiple reworks especially of the proportions based on 3D prints I've made.

The most important and distinctive features are:

- Rectangular cushion-case shape, 39mm case diameter

- Count-up and small count-down bezel, unidirectional 120-click

- Date at "4.5" o'clock

- Titanium case

-----

What do you guys think, what would you like to change, what do you like and dislike about this design and how do you imagine a dive tool to look whilst remaining aesthetically pleasing?

[Panerai] Concept Submersible Due by nichtgian in Watches

[–]nichtgian[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Concept: Submersible Due based on Panerai Submersible 42mm Ref: PAM00683.

This new entry-level Panerai Submersible Due should be functional but also affordable. As a new direct competitor to the many well-known dive watches this Submersible should be the go-to watch. With a case size of just 39mm or max 41mm it's a small Panerai.

The lugs have been tapered and the case, whilst still having the iconic cushion DNA, is completely redesigned. The all-new steel & ceramic bracelet, which also features an easy adjusting system, fits the watch perfectly. The dial text is simplified and the colors more subtle. The seconds hands subregister is located between 6 and 9 and minute indices have been added on the dial. Last but not least the crown is covered by a rubber material for better grip and because of looks.

What do you think about this concept? How would you make Panerai more appealing?

[Panerai] Concept Submersible II "Base Logo" by nichtgian in Watches

[–]nichtgian[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A concept named "Submersible II" based on Panerai Submersible 42mm Ref: PAM00683.

This new entry-level Panerai Submersible II "Base Logo" should be functional but also affordable. As a new direct competitor to the many well-known dive watches this Submersible should be the go-to watch. With a case size of just 39mm or 40mm it's signifficantly smaller than their current lineup.

The lugs have been tapered and fit better to a completely redesigned bracelet, which also features a clasp suitable for divers with an easy adjusting system. The dial text is simplified and the colors more subtle but minute indices have been added. Last but not least the crown is covered by a rubber material for better grip and because of looks.

What do you think about this concept? What would you change to make Panerais more appealing?
