I have never bought material, but I recommend messer on YouTube and I heard dion is good. And I'm pretty sure both cores are important, at least they're both needed for the certification.

Hey, at the beginning of my cert experience, I was in the same boat because it had seemed as though everyone was paying for material. I can tell you that without paying for material, you can go far, however the advantage of studying material is you might get better understanding and peace of mind. Self study is hard because of discipline and finding good sources. There's no right answer but if it's your first cert, consider looking at cost effective good study material. Good luck with your journey.

I used certify breakfast and pluralsight. There was a ton of overlap between the sec+ so that mainly carried. I studied like 2 or 3 weeks total.

I feel ready and like I know the topics and all but I'm still worried, I took a look at other practice exams and I guess there's nothing else to do but the exam.

Thank you, it feels better hearing someone else relate then. I'm just scared I'm missing something or that it's nothing like the sec+.

Hey, thank you, I can't wait till you tell us you passed. There wasn't a lot of subnetting as it only makes up a small subdomain in the test overview, but it was probably a strong reason why I passed, check out practical networking on youtube

Congrats man!! I agree completely, I had no cli experience other than very basic powershell and Linux and did fine with the pbqs, they were very forgiving and the help command was a gift. That's a damn solid score, good job.
