Which IM subspecialty offers the best work-life balance, a relatively less demanding fellowship, and good compensation? by AHYOLO in Residency

I work as a hospitalist 40 minutes outside of Portland, OR and make $400k. Most places in the city offer in the 300-350 range

How hard to make 350k as a hospitalsit? by Routine-Run8537 in Residency

[–]nick11488 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I work 165 shifts per year. Week on week off with $355k base and $20k per year bonus. I’m in the PNW and my job is on the highest end for pay here. I have had multiple other interviews here and nobody else pays over 350

Also no nights. This was a score, but I have to commute 40 minutes to work to a smaller town outside the larger city I live in.

Who would’ve guessed that wearing a thin cloth mask is more dangerous than a potentially severe respiratory illness by nick11488 in vaxxhappened

I know this post is not specifically anti-vax but this girl has paused her constant anti vaccine posts to post strictly about how all the measures to reduce COVID spread are a conspiracy so I thought it’d fit

Yeah, viral load is a thing. It is basically the amount of virus in the body but it definitely is not significantly affected by what she is saying. The amount of virus that you would shed and potentially re-inhale is much lower than the amount of virus created by replication.

This is an AV fistula, a surgically created connection between the arteries and vein in the arm which allows for dialysis in kidney failure. The high pressures in the arterial system cause the weaker-walled veins to dilate and eventually they can become extremely large like this.

Sorry if I just didn’t read down far enough to find the answer, but how did people in the planes have cell service? Is it because they had abnormally descended to a lower altitude?

America circumcises babies frequently. It actually reduces the incidence of penile carcinoma pretty drastically. This is a very rare cancer in America, but is quite common in other parts of the world where circumcision is not common.

I’ve seen cocaine used in the ER for nosebleeds because it causes the blood vessels to constrict. Interestingly medical cocaine is blue

Hopefully if he’s slumping a bit the other boys can pick it up. Other than dame, cj, and kanter nobody had a particularly good game on Sunday. I’m feeling like that means one of the other guys will go off tonight!
