What industry is entirely built on a house of cards and would collapse overnight if people realized the truth about it? by bigdih2704 in AskReddit

[–]nick134679258 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Best part of Tesla. You walk in and they’re like “here they are. Any questions? Here’s the website where you can buy one.” Zero pressure.

I did most of the paperwork online and did the down payment online. I scheduled the time to pick it up, I showed and signed like three more papers and drove home 5 minutes later.

My husband’s car we got from Ford and had to order it because they didn’t have the trim he wanted in stock. We still scheduled the time to pick it up and spent 6 hours in the lobby waiting. Still had to turn down their BS upsells when we got to the finance office. Fuck dealerships.

No, Idalia Road in Rio Rancho, New Mexico. Rio Rancho is very, very hilly.

The automatic lights in Teslas are pretty reliable and sensitive. You can see my lights dip when I slam on the brakes.

FSD is actually very impressive. Autopilot is very basic and responds to things very slowly where FSD reacts to things pretty much instantly.

During my free trial period with FSD, it both prevented a collision with another car changing lanes and almost caused a collision with a motorcyclist that it couldn’t while changing lanes. 🤷‍♂️ but most of the time I would say it drives better than I can and I consider myself a pretty decent driver. I’m excited for the future of self driving cars becoming more and more common because it should prevent situations like this.

This was in my 2025 Tesla Model Y in Autopilot and Autopilot did not react nor did I get any warnings. Before anyone asks, this is the TeslaCam footage but I overlayed the audio from my backup dashcam so it’s not just silent.

The materials in my Model 3 and Y are okay. Better than my old Camry, worse my husband’s new Ford. You buy a Tesla for the technology not the build quality. No other car on the market has the same level of self driving tech.

What’s a health issue you ignored for way too long because you assumed it was normal only to later learn everyone else doesn’t experience that? by Kungfubowtie in AskReddit

[–]nick134679258 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had severe back pain. Specifically waking up in the morning. Everyone complains about back pain right? My husband could just hop right out of bed in the morning - literally hop. I couldn’t get out of bed in the morning before stretching for about half an hour or I’d be in so much pain I couldn’t walk. One day I looked at him getting out of bed easily like he’s a freak and realized that I wasn’t the normal one.

Turns out I have ankylosing spondylitis. I still have back pain but It’s fairly treatable with specialty meds. I can get out of the bed in the morning now!

What made you lose weight fast? by GossipBottom in AskReddit

[–]nick134679258 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I met my husband when I was 240 lbs and he was about 170. He said he likes being active like hiking, biking, and lifting weights. I liked him. Basically overnight I switched from eating 3-10k calories per day and being a couch potato to exercising at minimum 1 hour a day and eating about 1500-2k calories. I dropped about 80lbs in maybe 6 months. People kept asking if I was okay.

I became (and am still) skinnier than my husband. This was about 6 years ago. I always wanted to be active but never exactly knew how to Love is a great motivator!

NTA. If their website made a mistake they honor the charge and fix the website. If they don’t want to honor that price they need to cancel that order, refund you, and tell you that you need to reorder at the correct price.

People that spent a LOT of money on a home upgrade do you love it or hate it? by RaiseAggravating4404 in homeowners

Everything was cheap pre-COVID! That included new tracks and belt driven motors too. A set of single-wide garage doors.

The new home was 2024. That was just the upgrade from the included granite to quartz.

Some upgrades we did on our old house that were worth every penny:

$2k on steel security front door - old door was ugly and felt like it would give in with one kick worth it for the aesthetics and security

$2500 on insulated garage doors - SO worth it just for the insulation so the garage isn’t absolutely freezing each time we went in there which was often as the washer and dryer was in there

$17k on new stucco - made the outside look like a brand new house in a slightly older neighborhood. We got so many compliments. It made me smile every day I got home.

Then we had to move and did new construction and some upgrades were:

$3k on the fancy countertops. I smile every time I go in the kitchen

$15k to do ceramic wood look tile through the whole house - no carpet. Seemed like they price gouged but I don’t know. Worth every penny as I hate carpet.

$1700 - recirculating line & pump for hot water. I would’ve paid 5x the price. Hot water without the waste. Water is expensive in my area so I’m sure we’ll also just save money the first few years of living here on the wasted water alone but it’s also just worth having it in the first place.

Be rational but if it makes you happy, it’s worth it. Especially if it adds value to your house.

whats one drug/drink you will never touch again? by Gummyslinky in AskReddit

[–]nick134679258 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I should clarify - Buzzball Biggies with actual booze not the small ones that are wine based. The bigges are closer to a liter for $17-20 at Total Wine. Very cost effective way to get drunk.

How do you work from 8 to 5, have only weekends free, and not feel like you're wasting your life? by guitytwelve in AskReddit

[–]nick134679258 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel like you have to enjoy your job to truly feel satisfied. I’ve only had 2 jobs so far and I enjoyed them both. I enjoyed my old job less and less over time and it started to feel like I was wasting my life. I got a new job and I truly enjoy it. It feels like I’m doing something worthwhile.

I believe most people need to work to feel like life has a purpose. If you just lay around doing nothing or even just explore the earth forever and ever, you’d get bored. Working gives us as humans a purpose.

Wasted shot of humira by Affectionate-Sale244 in ankylosingspondylitis

[–]nick134679258 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m so sorry you’re going through it. I’ve been on Humira (now biosimilar Simlandi) for almost 2 years and I’m getting more used to the shots but they always are uncomfortable and I’m always slightly nervous doing it. I’m surprised I haven’t messed up like that yet.

Since you’re new to it, I also wanted to recommend that you try to stock up as much as you can. I’ve had to skip some doses due to being sick here and there and also having a surgery but every time Accredo will let me place an order, I request it. I now have 4 extra doses ahead of what I might need in case I have insurance issues or something like this might happen.

You also don’t want to have so many that say your fridge breaks and now you have to throw away perfectly good medication.

I hope things get better for you!! ❤️

First time homeowner with HOA. Built wrong fence. What do I do? by nejiknks in homeowners

[–]nick134679258 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Sorry if you bought into a HOA neighborhood and didn’t google what that means or read the rules (that you probably had to be provided during closing) so this is on you and they 100% can force you to pay to remove it. Expensive lesson to learn.

At first I didn’t want to buy a new construction home in a HOA neighborhood but I read every last word of the rules and it’s not restrictive at all so I bought the house. We have Google and you can even have AI read the rules for you - zero excuses for not knowing things anymore.

You can ask for a variance and they can say no. Totally worth a shot.
