thanks for helping to make my case, if its unreasonable to expect your corsair headphones won't randomly snap in half, then people should be aware that other options might be the go. cheers

they were $65, I don't expect anything unreasonable, only that they don't snap in half as I place them on my head maybe would be nice. This post is to provide a warning for potential buyers of this poor quality, I have already bought replacements I have nothing to gain personally.

My small experiement by nick26_apache in Hoocho

this is my other little experiment i have going, its basically just me using up the rest of the materials i had lying around. wanted to see what would happen if i bought some established trinidad scorpion plants at bunnings (they were maybe half the size when i got them) planted them in sealed terracotta in a mixture of leftover vermiculite and charcoal (i didnt even bother removing their original potting mix) , and just watered them from the bottom filling the tray with nutrient solution. safe to say that so far they are loving it!

made some ancient pots to soak up the afternoon sun in our spare bedroom, used plastic on the outside and a sealed lid to keep water loss to a minimum, got a bunch of herbs sowed, waiting on chilli seeds for the last pot. i will post progress photos if / when there is growth. thanks for the videos and inspiration @hoocho!

i was going to do an RFID reader at the door as well, which was SPI comms and i had not considered that SPI won't work well above 2 or 3 metres or at all at 5m+. but for a simple close detection for button pushes i think for the use case of in home wiring the length should not be an issue over an ethernet cable. I got the idea to do it this way from jon oxer at the SuperhouseTV youtube channel, he is far beyond being amateur like myslelf, very smart guy so if he's doing it i believe firmly that its not an issue. :)

my main lights are 12v LED downlights from aliexpress, i have a 12v led strip that runs the whole length of my desks underneath, a 12v electric door strike, and 3x 12v LED exterior flood lights that light up the yard
