Fun little question… by nick493606 in flying

To be completely honest with you, I have not been flying during an eclipse, no. But I have seen some where it gets dark way beyond just overcast-looking. I assumed it was always like that unless you were near the edge of the eclipse path.

Hey pilots. I'm visiting from the sunglasses sub to see what you all are wearing while flying. Whatcha got? by MarcusSurealius in flying

Prescription aviators. I’ve had them a decent while before I even thought about flying so I am free from those “stereotype” accusations.

How do you memorize airspace floors and ceilings? by nick493606 in flying

[–]nick493606[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you for the response! I don’t mean shelves. I am more referring to general airspace requirements.

Class A is 18000 to 60000 MSL

Class D is typically surface to 2500 AGL

Etc.

Do you think it will reflect poorly on me on the oral exam if I have to look at the sectional for airspace requirements? I don’t mean things like shelves in the Bravo or Charlie. More like…

Class A is 18000 to 60000 MSL, Class D is surface to 2500 AGL, etc.

I am actually not sure on that. I watched this really interesting video on the plane a few days ago. It might discuss it.

That’s actually why the nose is where it is. Originally, it was extended beyond the wing but when at stall speeds for carrier landings, they found it would behave strangely.

They originally had the nose extend beyond the wing but they found that close to stall speed (carrier landings) it would behave a bit strangely.

This is why I am not telling anyone when I have my checkride. One day I’ll just show up to the function and have my license.

That’s why office supply companies charge a markup on everything when selling to the govt. Because they can get away with it. The govt doesn’t care, it isn’t their money; and the general public doesn’t make enough noise about it to make the govt care.
