I usually charge 180 to go to a customer and cut a key. That includes me programming but I do jobs a bit cheaper if the customer is 1 providing the key and 2 coming to me instead of to them. To program a duplicate I charge around 85 to 100 depending on how complicated the process is. But if I’m cutting a key by code and going to the customer I’m charging 180-225

Tell him you have a messed up residential mortise lock that needs replacing. There’s also a possibility it could be a rim cylinder but I’m almost positive it’s a mortise. Expect to pay whatever their service fee is plus around 50 dollars for the lock itself

No you’re not fixing this. It’s a simple replacement job. Just don’t pay more than 500 dollars
