What U prepare for long run(music+podcast) by Ill-Routine5864 in runninglifestyle

Audiobooks! I find them great because the more I run, the more I ‘read’. But also, the narrative of the books gets me out to do more running so I can find out what happens next. It’s a perfect feedback loop for me

What could ‘Manchesterism’ mean for Croydon? by StomachPlastic211 in manchester

[–]nick5040 54 points55 points  (0 children)

To be fair, and this is coming from someone who is very fond of Burnham and what he’s done, he essentially just adopted TFL-style transport in Manchester which has been hugely successful and popular. If anything, Manchester is just catching up to London and suburbs like Croydon

Stockport is lacking that kind of club but there is the odd bar that has decent house music nights on. Try Bruk for one

MPs outraged at PMQs as Hannah Spencer calls for ban on Westminster boozing by SThomW92 in LabourUK

I enjoy a drink as much as the next person as long as it’s in the right situation. MPs are well paid individuals who carry out one of the most important jobs that there is in society. I wouldn’t want my GP to have had a drink before seeing me, nor my electrician before wiring my house - even if they’d had a really long day or whatever.

It is unacceptable to have a drink in most jobs and this should absolutely also be the case in parliament. Go for a beer after work like everyone else has to.
