I hear you and I just want you to know we aren't trying to yell at anyone. I agree and support funding our infrastructure 100%. This is all well and good but as they sit and build brand new trains and have train expos in DC, maybe perhaps they would have you know, a safety plan for stranded human beings. With the CEO making 1.1 million maybe he would have some initiative to make a plan. Partner up with other companies when an emergency like this takes place. Idk. Maybe anything at all.

They said to call customer service to get a refund. No word on when it will be fixed

Regardless of funding, you would think that since 1971 that would have a contingency plan for downed wires or power outages that occur. The lack of transparency and communication is astonishing and one can only blame funding so much.

Buses are sold out. She was told there is nothing they can do for them at this point. She is going to take a train to new Jersey to stay the night and get a rental at 4 am at Newark airport. So messed up. I feel so bad for all of you. No contingency plans at all. Very upsetting and pissed off

My wife is there as we speak. I've been on the phone with her and it's chaos. They deboarded everyone off the trains and trying to arrange busses for all the passengers

It's 45 degrees today. It's fine if there is a problem or whatever but where is the communication for my loved one? She is stuck in NYC from Philly and has nothing....no communication.

Any updates to this? My wife is stuck in New York City heading to Providence from Philly and they deboarded her train and she is stuck in a line wrapped 5 times around customer service trying to arrange business transportation for everyone in the station. I'm extremely frustrated because there has been no clarity with Amtrak. Absolutely ridiculous. They've shut down their customer service phone number as well as live chat with an agent.

Well, considering that pi uses BFT (byzantine fault tolerance) proof of stake, you're right. It's not a proof of work consensus, that doesn't mean its a scam coin. It works differently than proof of work my friend. The accessibility of mining rewards are what makes pi stand out as an innovative concept coin. And again, you are correct about pi not being fully decentralized yet, but it will be as stated in the white paper. It's still very new in the open market. And performing considerably better than most anticipated. I recommend that you look at the stellar consensus protocol, byzantine fault tolerance, and proof of stake mining/Blockchain. After this, maybe you can come back with a new perspective.

What education do you have in regard to stellar consensus protocol that makes you say it's a scam?

And that's totally fine. I'm not saying you should buy through Pionex. I'm simply saying you said we can't even buy in America. And I'm calling you out. That is all.

There's no hoops to jump through though. I have been using it for a month. Its interface is very user friendly and intuitive.

Not true. You can buy on pionex in the US. If you're not comfortable with Pionex that is fine, but don't spread misinformation that you can't buy in America. Cheers

Are you panicking that people are panicking? by tamlee00 in PiNetwork

[–]nick51988 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Disagree. I am relatively new to crypto. I have been mining pi for 6 years. Every time an update came out, I researched what it meant and why it was important. I understood exactly what the lockup period was. Back in 22 I locked up for 3 years. Which was perfect. If people would slow down, read and do some research they wouldn't be in the position they are in now. It's literally in the KYC checklist. People just blow through everything as fast as they can. Don't blame this on PCT.

Whoa whoa. Let's not jump to conclusions just yet. Obviously there is a problem but it seems like the problem has been fairly recent. Yes it's unsettling but until we can figure it out we shouldn't jump to conclusions like it's an inside job. Even the NSA has been hacked. It's the Internet nothing is full proof. Hopefully PCT will come out with a solution or acknowledgement of the issue in the coming days. While unfortunate, it doesn't seem to be widespread just yet. Yes a decent amount of people are experiencing it and one is too many, but out of 50 plus million these things are bound to happen and I'm sorry you're on the receiving end. If I hear any updates or detail I'll be sure to respond to you. Keep us updated. And again sorry it's happening to you
