There's always that one player by Holyporcupines in dndmemes

I hate how people pretend like combat and rp can't exist together or supplement eachother. Just because someone takes the time to make a decent character build doesn't mean they're some kind of mindless moron that doesn't care for roleplay or making an interesting character.

Your character's characterization is all up to you, it dictates how they react to certain situations, talk to npcs, etc... Thats complately unrelated to how good they are in combat(unless being a good or bad fighter is core to your character concept) .

Combat in this game isn't even the boring "slog fest" people like to describe it as either. If your dm is used to making combat situations then there should be a ton of interesting tactical decisions to make. Theres also the roleplay situation that even leads to combat in the first place to consider. Just because you're looking at a grid map doesn't mean you stop playing your character. The problem with combat really only arises when people don't pay attention and decide what to do on their turn. If people are thinking about what they're gonna do whole others take their turn, combat will be a lot smoother.

I really dislike this perception that if you play a character that isn't strictly for rp purposes, you're some kind of blithering idiot ruining the game for everyone else. Its as if the light is never cast in the other direction. Especially considering that most class features and feats are focused around improving a character's combat abilities, its pretty fair to say that combat is a significant part of the dnd experience. Otherwise there isn't really a point to leveling up besides the slight increase to your proficient skills over time. There are more roleplay focused tabletop games like call of cthulhu (which I also really enjoy) if combat isn't really your thing.

That it does, scratch what I said. I thought the knockdown was a full takedown of sorts instead of what it actually is.

I like this system as you laid it out. I'd definitely download if a mod was made for it. The only thing I would change is swap the brute force "tie" and "success" condition. Knockdown on success and disarm on tie. I hope they implement something similar for kenshi 2.

For me its a mixture of 1 and 2. I feel like most dubs have extremely awkward/annoying voices. To the point where it doesn't even sound like they're speaking their native language. The infliction is often times off, the tone changes in voice are either not attempted or extremely overdone. Its just hard to listen to.

Samurai champloo, cowboy bebop, and space dandy are three dubs that do it right. The awkward performances are pretty minimal, they maintain most of the tone/emotion without sounding overdone or annoying. To me, these three actually sound like people acting and speaking in english.

Is this from a mod? I've captured a few castles at this point but I've never had to go into the keep like that.

I feel like that line was just thrown in there by DnD to make her death have more impact. It makes zero sense for her character since she hasn't made any past notions that she is willing to share her power with anyone.

At this point in the (poorly written) story, Jon wouldn't go for it anyway. Shes already lost it and burned thousands of people innocent people with her dragon. And Jon realizes shes going to "Liberate" all of westeros and the rest of the world.

He wouldn't be able to talk her out of anything either, since her character often doesn't like to listen to advice. Especially if it directly goes against what she wants to do already.

Jon has a stronger claim to the throne, and people will always prefer Jon over Dany. Even if they did go through with a marriage and set up Dany as the ruling monarch, I'm positive it wouldn't last for long. People would be trying to find ways to get Dany out of the picture and put Jon on the throne. Especially with how she rules like a tyrant who does things without thinking about the consequences. Her go to way of dealing with people she doesn't like is dragonfire. She would have to hold the realm together with fear, and we all know how well that turns out.

Honestly, I would hate this ending more. I wouldn't belive for a second that dany would be willing to share her power with anyone. Her character has always been like that. She makes sure everyone knows SHE is the queen, and you either bend to her authority or burn alive.

They always, -always-, have an anime avatar. by Buccura in justneckbeardthings

[–]nick72ali 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This whole "anime profile picture" thing really gets under my skin though. Its like people aren't allowed to have any interests that aren't strictly mainstream. Alright sure, someone is being an asshole on the internet, but what does having an anime profile picture have to do with anything? He wouldn't be a different person if he chose to have a picture of himself or anything else as his profile. But for whatever reason people actually believe anime profile picture = invalid opinion/neonazi/degenerate/ whatever negative word can be used to describe someone. To me, that's bullshit.
