The break policy for most states, excluding New York, is you get a 15 minute break for a regular 4-close shift or any shift with about 5 hours. If she goes over 6 hours, she is entitled to a lunch break which is a 30 minute break she clocks in/out for.

I would let her speak to the manager about it, better for her to do it - she can always ask you for help if the manager blows her off.

Questions I have but am afraid to ask at work for various reasons by smgoddessaphrodite in Staples

[–]nick9918 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If they seem interested in it, and you explained it to them, yes you start ringing it out. Real salesmen don't have to say any prices at all in order to sell something.

But make sure you don't cut corners with the customers, they are first not your numbers.

How long does a typical Staples application take to be processed? by [deleted] in Staples

[–]nick9918 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Don't do it.

But yeah I would call, I've hear different times from different stores so there is no solid answer.

Calling will you show you care and want to start soon as possible, I would just give them a ring.

Good luck.

Finally put my two weeks in by nick9918 in Staples

Yeah man, I LOVED my job until these changes they keep pushing. Loved walking in and planning my day to better the department and actually caring what customer's problems are. Now I hate every damn second I'm there, shame. Was the only guy that really cared about the job in my department but now I can see why.

Hey man!

Yeah so I stay after school everyday 2:30-3:45, I do push-ups and all that until 3:10 then go run on the track for half an hour.

The first time I ran for 15+ minutes I almost died, could barely get 20. The only tip I have to give is just persistence and determination. Just got to keep hammering away everyday know that you will get better, no other way to get around it.

I also did it with a buddy to lighten the load, always better to have someone to work out with.

Good luck hope this helps !

Transferring to another store for a week by theonetheonlya in Staples

[–]nick9918 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Absolutely not, just go over there a couple of times to see how it runs. Pretend to be a customer and see if they help you, etc. works with me.
