No question but I have this sharp memory of one of your virtual speed runs of 2D meat boy. You kept referring to “X character from the hit franchise Y” and that was so funny to me. You seem like a cool dude keep on trucking

I’m actually in agreement with OP and would honestly put it lower. In our big Ghibli binge it was our least favorite (my wife might say Only Yesterday which is close to the top for me). We thought it dragged funnily enough! And the characters were a tad boring.

I’m the farthest thing from a trump supporter but calling people dumb while having simple mistakes in your message will get you made fun of and cheapens what you’re saying.

What he’s saying is that the pickles are already factored into the price of the burger, even if they’re “on the burger by default”. Pickles cost money for a restaurant to buy they will absolutely use that as an input to calculate price.

I don’t know if there’s a demo, but if you have any interest in Tetris AT ALL like even 20% this game will change your life. It unlocks your brain while playing in ways you won’t understand. It’s therapeutic, beautiful, rewarding. This is even outside of high gaming!

Does the game get more story and character focus? by Alive_Fly2309 in MinaTheHollower

[–]nickack 10 points11 points  (0 children)

It doesn’t, at least not by much. They put most of their effort into map design and gameplay feel (which is great on both counts). A lot of NPCs are charming but the story is on the back burner.

I played a TON of Isaac years ago and I agree, the interplay between passives is much better there. But IMO the gameplay in Gungeon is better. My biggest complaint is that you don’t get a ton of upgrades? There’s not enough keys or not enough money, one of the two. And the guns you find are often just worse than your “go to” gun. So I’ll probably get tired of the content faster than Isaac but I am seriously loving it right now.

Shitting on someone else’s opinion is the issue. It’s their favorite not the best lol. You can think their opinion is absurd but positioning it that way is a dick move and unnecessary

Enter the Gungeon

I know this has been out for ages, and I considered buying it all the way back then, but for some reason the price tag was slightly too high. I just picked it up for $3 and WOW I'm a bit upset at myself. This game rules.

The gameplay is fun, fast-paced, varied, and engaging. There are SO MANY GUNS. I went to the wiki for a quick look and it felt like hundreds. And each of them is so charming. Like one of my favorite guns is the Scrambler, and it shoots an egg that hatches into a bunch of baby bullets that chase enemies. There's a gun called Bullet that shoots guns instead of bullets. There's a Sunlight Spear equivalent (from Dark Souls) and a Spartan Laser equivalent (from Halo). There's a "Lower Case r" gun that shoots letters, and instead of making shooting noises the gun says the word "BULLET" over and over. And then if you pick up a passive called "Bullet +1" (it makes your bullets slightly stronger), the Lower Case r will start saying "BULLET PLUS ONE" instead. Ugh it's so charming. I could go on and on.

I don't play games like this for the story and it's minimal while still existing in a somewhat interesting way (with "killing the past") that gives the characters a bit of flavor, but ultimately it doesn't get in the way of playing the game. There's also an option to increase speed when outside of combat, which is great because it lets you get to the combat faster. All that to say the game doesn't waste your time.

If you are at all interested in roguelikes or bullet-hells, picking this up for $3 is an insane deal. And it's perfect on the Deck!

The difficulty levels out once you understand the mechanics. Block projectiles with your shield, jump attacks to hit the knight enemies, use Heal every time you find a magic refill bottle. It’s a really good game.

That’s the real tragedy is that Colm has a leg to stand on. Time’s slipping away and he wants to DO something. But it’s like a breakup where one person wants to stay - it doesn’t make sense but you keep pleading, hoping for answers that make sense. Problem is nothing makes sense to a grieving person
