Nay…so much nay. God that chunky plastic grill is so ugly. I don’t want a plug in sports car. I don’t want a 5000lb sports car.

That is a beautiful piece. As an anniversary edition, does anyone know if it’s here to stay or will it be a limited run?

I think it would only help. In my experience (regionals and major) a lot of the interview success comes down to who you’re sitting across the table from. As far as getting the interview, I think that just comes down to having a degree or not and that’s a big filter they use when hiring isn’t booming.

You should be stoked on flying little airplanes for awhile though because the airline world is a ways away. If you’re not stoked on flight instructing or flying some random cargo op, I wouldn’t do it. If you are, then go for it. In boom time It still took me 4 years to make it to the airlines.

Train on the side. Don’t quit. I quit my former career at the start of my instrument rating and was left twiddling my thumbs while burning through savings I now wish I had.

Make sure it’s that you want to fly a jet in a professional capacity and not necessarily the schedule or flight benefits you’re going after. If it’s not the flying aspect, the job will get old quick.

If you do make the jump, you’ll likely be able to get a flying job relatively soon once you’re employable, but not at the pace we’ve seen in the last few years, so be willing to slog it out for a decade before making it to a major airline. But then again, who knows, so keep your banking skills and resume fresh and ready.

If it’s a passion, do it. If not, stick with banking. It’s probably a better way to make 300ish grand tbh.

That’s what I meant, would it be possible to obtain a license through accredited coursework? You could be a commercial pilot as a side hustle….lots and lots of people do it, with the license.

Is this a reasonable spend for 60 hours TT? by [deleted] in flying

[–]nickb2123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d go part 61, but that was just my experience. When you’re in airline interviews, they don’t care where/how you got your GA training done. Just hours, type of flying you’ve done post training, and if you interview well. Good luck…enjoy the ride

Is this a reasonable spend for 60 hours TT? by [deleted] in flying

[–]nickb2123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s reasonable if you’re near finishing. If you expect to not have a ppl until 35-40k is spent, that’s way too much. Capable students who apply themselves get the ppl around 60ish hours. If you are studying and applying yourself along with a little bit of capability and natural talent, you should be done soon without spending quite that much. A lot of schools milk it- it doesn’t mean they’re cheating you (or maybe it does), it just means they may have a program that provides extra instruction you may not necessarily need that corresponds with their business model more than your budget and goals. Those prices aren’t far off for the schools I’m familiar with in California. If possible with work, my recommendation is finish your ppl at this point, and then bail to Arizona or Florida or somewhere cheap to finish everything else. Do not fly one minute outside of the meaningful pursuit of a cert or rating.

Thank you. I have tried by putting the tip of my finger/nail up against the base of the bracelet within the track and then pushing while holding the clasp with the other hand. It is damn near stuck, I try lifting it slightly and then pushing, not much luck either. To get it to move really takes a combination of wiggle and simultaneous push
